4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Scauca (490) - Lovere, - OCT 19, 2009
Tap @ The Dome. Almost black with a creamy beige fading yet lacing head. Aroma is sweet fruit, berries, cocoa, flowers, vanilla, a slight woody undertone. A fat bodied beer with barely no carbonation, yet outrageously drinkable, with a sweet complex lingering taste, balanced by a light acidity.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Dr_Butty (23) - SCOTLAND - FEB 10, 2012
A bottle of beer that costs more than a typical bottle of wine and has the same alcohol as a fortified wine. A risk (it could be filth), but have been meaning to try this for a while.
Pours thick and black, helps if you slap the bottom of the bottle to get the last out. Massive roasted aroma with chocolate, maybe a bit of liquorice as well. Really big flavours, all the usual roasted chocolate, coffee and liquorice you’d expect, but also fruit like raisins and maybe cherries. Sweetness balanced perfectly by bitterness. Long, complex finish which lasts for ages. One to sip and savour and shockingly drinkable for a beer of ludicrous strength. Could be a good alternative as an after dinner drink.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 phaleslu (3182) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 6, 2012
330 ml bottle via trade. Batch 002. Best by 14/12/19. Whew, had it just in the nick of time. Pours a dark amber-hued brown with a small tan head. Aroma of dark fruits (cranberry especially), earth, charred oak, spices (must be the jasmine, though that one is hard to pick out alone), and warming booze. Flavor of woody booze, jasmine, cranberry, brown sugar, caramel malts, tobacco, earth, and deep roast. Medium-full bodied, with a warming, roasty, boozy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Pretty neat imperial stout.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 adamjackson (103) - Canaan, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 31, 2012
"Purchased for $11.99 at State Line in Elkton MD. This is Batch 07, Best by 1-15-2021. I poured this into a shot glass and sipped. No snifter was around.
A - Deep brown, TONS of amber on the edges but no head. The alcohol fingers reside on the edges of the glass for a while.
S - Cranberries, juniper, pine, figs and grapes
T - Vanilla, lots of heat, citrus and pineapple!
M - HUGE mouthfeel. Mild carbonation and an intense lingering.
O - AMAZING. The price is right for an 18% beer.
I love this beer and have 4 at the house just sitting around for another 10 years. Too bad this is retired. It’s a fantastic brew."
