Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.

Bottle. Pours a very dark cloudy brown with a reddish tinge - lasting light brown coloured head. Powerful aroma of chocolate and nuts. Taste: Strong sweet malty taste, strong oak notes. Notes of chocolate and caramel. Very warming mouthfeel. Finishes with a strong malty sweetness, same notes as above. A bit numbing on the tongue. Very full bodied, a tad oily on the mouthfeel. This is a powerful winner! Absolutely outstanding for a barrel aged imperial stout...

dark brown colour, some creamy brown head; aroma of coffee and alcohol...too much alcohol which does not allow to feel anything else; taste of roasted coffee, herbal liqueur, syrupy sweetness and spicy alcohol; roasted bitter and spicy alcoholic aftertaste - I think it would be much better with a bit less alcohol...this 18% has much more cons than pros...

12oz bottle. This one begs the question, "Should an Imperial Stout, thick as molasses, barrel aged, and raised to such an abv automatically be rated highly?". I don’t know, all I can do is rate this against other Imperial Stouts. Pours jet black, thick, small tan head that dissipates quickly, huge cherry and rum aroma. Taste is nearly unbearably sweet, whether this comes from the cherry additions or the barrel aging I can’t say. The abv is ever-present but strangely does nothing to combat the sticky sweetness. I can’t say that I get the hop additions as well. I don’t find this to be enjoyable, a la World Wide Stout that is also 18%, I find this to be annoying, cloying, sickly sweet, and containing additions that take away from what could have been a very enjoyable Imperial Stout. I applaud the effort to make something outside the realm of normality, but in this case it is a failure.

Bottle from systembolaget. The high ABV can be smelt other than that the beer have an oak scent. It pours solid black with a rich light brown head. The taste is solid. Nice with a tatse of chocolate and a creamy palate. Though it lacks the complexity that one might wish from an imperial stout. All in all, a good beer
