COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of specialty malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry hopped it with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully aging the beer on French toasted oak chips.

Bottle aged one year. Second time to consume this beauty. Pours almost black from the bottle with a light creamy head that dissipates quickly into beautiful lacing. Scent of sweet booze. O M G seriously the sweetest shit ever. And I like it. Flavor of raisin cranberry thickness. Goodness! This is a nectar meant to be sipped with some seriously good cheese. Chose an nice English cheddar. Feeling grateful.

Pours an opaque dark brown with a one-finger, dark tan head. The aroma is melting caramel in the sauce pan with fermented raisins. Slick, viscous mouthfeel. Whoa!! The 18.2% ABV on the label is definitely accurate. Sweet raisin and rich caramel flavors. This brew is powerful in every possible way imaginable.

Pours very dark black with small tan head out of bottle. Unfiltered. Sweet aroma of raisins and oak. Sweet taste of malt and oak. Great beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Raisins, dark pitted fruit, and roasted malts with a hint of alcohol comprise the aroma. A inky black pour with a small, rapidly dissipating khaki head and minimal to no lacing. The taste is slightly sweet. Dark roasted malts, raisins, coffee bitterness, caramel, brown sugar, sweet fruit with wood notes. The finish and aftertaaste, while sweet, have some pepper and alcohol flavors present. Full body and mild carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel. Overall, a well crafted beer with an extremely complex flavor profile. It tastes like a sweet port. Would be great with blue cheese!

On tap at CBC 2012. Deep black in the glass, small head. Heavy malty aroma. Starts quite sweet and malty, more and more dry. Finish less sweet, some earthy notes. Interesting beer.

330ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Batch 001 (or 061?), BBE 31/11/09 Pours pitch black with a tiny bubbly brown head. Aroma of sweet roasty malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, wood, ash and oaky notes. Taste is sweetish, roasty, heavy and a bit oxidized with notes of dark chocolate, wood and oak. Finish is sweet, sticky and caramely with notes of oak, dark chocolate and some aged notes. Okay, but feels like it’s already past it’s prime.

330 ml bottle sampled in 2011. Black body with a small and fast disappearing brown head. Aroma has dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, coffee, chocolate, nice bitterness and warming alcohol. Fine body and long aftertaste. A bit rough and sweet, but nice and a lot smoother than Tokyo*

Bamsen78 (2425) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013
UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of malt with pronounced caramellish and boozy notes. Sugary flavour, enriched by scarse caramel notes. Excessivley sweety, amd yet unable to erase the boozy feeling. An astounding defeat for BrewDog. I’m sorry. Go back to the basics.

Bottle from the cellar. Dark brownish black body with a minimal tan head. Nose of cherries, apple brandy and dark malts. The flavor is filled with brown sugar and alcohol, tingly bubbles of caramel and plums. Finishes wih an apple brandy & chocolate syrup combo. Wow. Not like the 18 percenter but still very tasty stuff....
