COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of specialty malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry hopped it with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully aging the beer on French toasted oak chips.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt and soy sauce as well as some notes of alcohol and wood. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of roasted malt and alcohol as well as notes of soy sauce and wood, leading to a dry alcoholic and roasted finish. The alcohol tickles the tongue.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours completely opaque black with a small rough beige head. Burned malty nose with some alcohol present. Very full-bodied, completely flat with loads of burned malt and coffee. Some woody accents and a distinctly malt bitter finish with plenty of alcohol present. 090209

33 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a small chocolate brown head. Aroma is initially fruity from the hops but also followed closely by a more roasted yet smooth malt note and light chocolate. Light to medium bodied - not as thick as expected. Fruity and medium sweet initial flavour followed by a complex mix of roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla. Reappearing fruity and hopp notes into a smooth finish with a little spice note. Very elegant and a different take on the oaked beer trends. Nice one.

Bottle, 12%. Weak roasted aroma, faint hint of cream. Almost black colour. The flavour is very roasted, hint of smoke. Some tar. Not very balanced. Rough alcohol and salami aftertaste. Low carbonation, quite pleasant.

Black color; almost still, just a small frothy head by pouring it from high. Intense aroma, of cookies and chocolate; later, some leather too. Ful body strength, it has undoubtly a good mix of caramel, malt and chocolate, with the sugar sticking on the lips; in the beginning there is an amount of liquorice, that fades away to reappear much later; some leather. Hidden by the generous amount of malts, there is a good hopping; the final has some roasted nuts too, and overall manages to hide well the alcohol. Strangely, I prefer it in the beginning than after some time resting in the glass (1 hour). Very good.

Black with tiny beige head. Somewhat sweet aroma with loads of roasted malt, oak, smoke and coffee notes. Flavour has roasted malt, fried ham, oad and liquerice. Strange imperial stout.
