COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of specialty malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry hopped it with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully aging the beer on French toasted oak chips.

Dark, brown tint. Deceivingly smooth. Coffee, dark fruit, a little soot, some vanilla. Warming alcohol. Very impressive to brew a beer of this strength with this velvet smoothness. Fine bitter finish.

Reakt came thru for me in his first trade with this beauty. I feel I may owe him some more beer. Pours black and flat but with a mere trickle of central carbonation. Oak tones eminate from the glass along with that of plums and a skoash of vanilla. Some malts poke thru the nose but are certainly overshadowed. Mouthfeel is slick and reminicent of port. Alcohol is expertly hidden. Continued fruitiness during entire full body. A pleasure.

High light of the Atlantic City Beer Fest. Tapped out of a small keg. Aroma was very wine like with a lot of fruit and alcohol. Black pour with a big head maybe due to the tapping. Very intense flavor of fruit sweetness up front and a nice hop dry finish. Really nice and warming. Not for the timid or the lawn mowers.

#001 from Ølbutikken. Pitch black, dark tanned cocoa head. Burned nose with wood, mint chocolate, smokiness, funny and perfumey jasmine, interesting yet so balanced. A bit more traditional flavor, tar, menthol, smoky burned malts, dry bitter cocoa and wood with little perfumey flowers. Long espresso and dark chocolate finish with mild alcohol. Not really that much oak, just dry woodiness. Full bodied, a bit oily, lush palate, not that thick. A beautiful stout, love that perfumey twist.

Tokyo brings a massive wooded/oak aroma to the nose. It is black with a brown tint and a subtle rim of foam. The taste is massively complex with a strong caramelized sugar overtone. There are tons of complex flavors including oak, maple, burnt caramel, rasperry and belgian candi sugar. Overall, this beer is unbelievably complex, I can’t even put my finger on all the flavors. It is very sugary and caramelized, and you would never imagine there is 18% alcohol. This is a delicious beer boasting tons of sweet flavors. I’d give this an A+ rating.

Dark ruby red, almost black with thin beige head. Aroma.. loads of roasted malts, coffee, some sweet-sour fruitiness, nicely hopped, warming alcohol, oaky, bit smoked. Sweet with tones of sourness with bitter dry finish. Complex and interesting brew, but most important - very tasty.

“Intergalactic fantastic oak-aged stout” is what the label says. Intergalactic indeed….this is light years away from regular beer. This is a beer in the extreme. An orchestra of flavour, a Normandy landing, a fully worked muscle car, a Mr Olympian, a small thermonuclear device….and I tried a stronger beer the night after…… So having recovered I refer to my notes: Black, black as sin in colour, almost no head. Aromas are incredibly tarry, charcoal, burnt chestnuts, and even fragrant pine like notes trying to be heard. It even smells sweet and thick and rich. No holds barred flavours of very sweet/ molasses darkest roasted malt (understatement) charcoal, warm and toasty chestnut, soft dark berries, road tar, crushed rock and cedar. Then to finish some strong hop bitterness comes out of nowhere lingering and offsetting the sweetness. This is a beer for the experienced, someone who has been around the block (quite a few times). For me this was a bit too overpowering and sweet, but an experience it was and it will be remembered.

Was very surprised at how well the cranberries and jasmine shined in this beer. The oak is rather toned down, but roasted malt, truffles, dark chocoate, dark fruit, jasmine and cardmon all peak out in the mouth. Its herbaceous! Moderately dry and alcohol is not even seen, except a slight warming finish. THis is a work of art and I loved every minute.
