4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Monpbeer (11) - Melbourne, - MAY 29, 2009
“Intergalactic fantastic oak-aged stout” is what the label says. Intergalactic indeed….this is light years away from regular beer. This is a beer in the extreme. An orchestra of flavour, a Normandy landing, a fully worked muscle car, a Mr Olympian, a small thermonuclear device….and I tried a stronger beer the night after……
So having recovered I refer to my notes: Black, black as sin in colour, almost no head. Aromas are incredibly tarry, charcoal, burnt chestnuts, and even fragrant pine like notes trying to be heard. It even smells sweet and thick and rich. No holds barred flavours of very sweet/ molasses darkest roasted malt (understatement) charcoal, warm and toasty chestnut, soft dark berries, road tar, crushed rock and cedar. Then to finish some strong hop bitterness comes out of nowhere lingering and offsetting the sweetness. This is a beer for the experienced, someone who has been around the block (quite a few times). For me this was a bit too overpowering and sweet, but an experience it was and it will be remembered.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 phaleslu (3182) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 6, 2012
330 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! Batch 001, best by 31/11/09 (since when are there 31 days in November?). Aroma of peat, smoked malts, oak, soy, chocolate, roasted malts, and brown sugar. Flavor of spices, toasted oak, peat, earth, chocolate, and some berry fruits. Light-bodied, thinned out over the years, with low carbonation and a smoky, roasty, watery mouthfeel. Jasmine and cranberry were hard to pick out in this one. Good, but probably better fresher.

Very dark color.
No head, no carbonation.
Rich whiskey and aromas.
Same as taste with the oak in presence.
Very strong beer that I shared with two other friends.
One of the best of its kind....but for sure not the one you chose everyday.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 VTHopHead (1340) - Barre, Vermont, USA - DEC 26, 2011
Bottle/12oz - Pours a very dark black/brown in color with no head and almost no carbonation. Aroma... dark roasted malts, oak/vanilla, chocolate, sweet herbs, sweet malts and plenty of red fruit... awesome. Palate is quite thick and smooth on the tongue. Flavor is medium sweet with lots of fruit... cherries and cranberries (!) mostly... lovely. Lingering dark roasted malts, cranberry tart/bitter and a decent amount of chocolate. Alcohol, in spite of its incredible strength, is well muted and offset by the other strong flavors of the beer. This is a masterful and awesome beer... one of the most enjoyable, if not strongest, I have had for a very long time!! Truly an amazing/excellent beer...
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 diabel (1506) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - NOV 29, 2011
Deep black body with a dark brown head (to the extent that one can speak of a head, there is almost no head). Aroma mainly of coffee, but pop up as well: prunes, dark fruit, cognac, brandy: very complex aroma but not very attractive. Moderately bitter, heavily sweet flavour with actually a rather weak mouthfeel. Not as dense as one would have expected. Ok, not great.

Heavy coffee aroma. Small, light brown head. Fair lacing. Black body. Light sweet and light bitter flavor with heavy coffee notes. Medium to full palate.

Thin off white head. Dark Amber pour. Still sweet but with a complex aftertaste. Lovely
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kryon (150) - SWEDEN - OCT 30, 2011
this bottle has been in my cellar for 1 year. pours black with small frizzy head. Aromas of figs, dades, brown sugar, alcohol, oak
Almost sticky taste from the high alcohol level. Round, extermely sweet and a slight bitter and oaky ending. Texture is oily, quite thin and watery.
A lot of sugar left in my mouth... Why do I have yet another one in my cellar
