COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, series
The unsung heroes, the foot soldiers of the revolution. We owe a huge debt to the billions of tiny yeast cells that work tirelessly to ferment sugars into alcohol and CO2. But yeast isn’t just here for the grunt work. Yeast has the power to change the flavour, aroma and complexion of your beer in an instant. This series is designed to showcase the impact different yeasts have on the same base beer.
This series of 4 beers gives the limelight to four totally different yeast strains: Belgian Trappist, Pilsen Lager, American Ale and Bavarian Weizen. All 4 beers have been brewed to the same ABV using a blend of Centennial and Amarillo hops and a backbone of Pale Ale, Munich and Cara Malts. Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal Malt, Caramalt
Hops: Centennial, Amarillo
Twist: Each beer is identical except for the different yeast used to ferment the beers creating 4 radically different beers from the same starting point

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne; batch 240, bb 10-10-14
Hazy bright amber color with small compact head. Nice aroma, hoppy, delicate resins and fruits, with a pleasant earthy and sweaty side. The mouthfeel is dry; some malt and toffee flavor, but also somehow metallic; strong bitterness, with some hop resins, otherwise not much hop quality.
Average.

(Draught at BrewDog Stockholm, 13 Dec 2013) Amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of toast, apricots and orange. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, orange, apricots, a touch of caramel and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Balanced and quite tasty. Nice one.

Bottle. Cloudy golden with white head. Pine, yeast and grapes in aroma, very fresh. Taste is very similar, with floral hops and some caramel. Dry a little bit towards the end. Definitely the best one of "Unleash the Yeast" 4-pack, but its not like those other 3 are bad...That pack really is a perfect way to experience how yeast changes character of a beer, worth every penny.

Bottle. Tasted alongside the other 3. Pours deep gold and clear with an initially large White head that quickly subsides. Amazing aroma. Sherbety boiled sweets. Tropical fruits. Lovely hops. Good mouthfeel. A very nice APA and by far the best of the 4.

Light haze on this amber beer, tidy white head. Palate starts smooth but has a minerally crisp trailing edge. Smooth malt, semi sweet and semi dry. I know this is a yeast showcase but there is a little too much of it in the mid. Decent orange hops with a nice tangerine bite bring things around. Semi dry finish.

Bottle. Pours clear amber liquid with small white head. Aroma of orange zest, pine and flowers. Taste stars with refreshing bitterness, goes pretty sweet. Light body with oily texture, lively carbonated. Long finish full of dried apricots. You can see that base for this series was chosen for ale, best from the four.
