COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, series
The unsung heroes, the foot soldiers of the revolution. We owe a huge debt to the billions of tiny yeast cells that work tirelessly to ferment sugars into alcohol and CO2. But yeast isn’t just here for the grunt work. Yeast has the power to change the flavour, aroma and complexion of your beer in an instant. This series is designed to showcase the impact different yeasts have on the same base beer.
This series of 4 beers gives the limelight to four totally different yeast strains: Belgian Trappist, Pilsen Lager, American Ale and Bavarian Weizen. All 4 beers have been brewed to the same ABV using a blend of Centennial and Amarillo hops and a backbone of Pale Ale, Munich and Cara Malts. Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal Malt, Caramalt
Hops: Centennial, Amarillo
Twist: Each beer is identical except for the different yeast used to ferment the beers creating 4 radically different beers from the same starting point

Bottled. Orangeish golden colour with a small white creamy head. Aroma is a bunch of fruity and floral notes with some sweet malts to it as well. Flavour is very similar, and actually has very clean tastes, which work well together.

Alengrin (2425) - BELGIUM - NOV 16, 2014
The bottom-fermented variant in this series, with the least amount of fruitiness and spiciness, though some of it is still there (I guess this hasn’t been lagered cold for a long time as would be custom for most bottom-fermented beers). Snow white, stable and sticky head though a bit less thick than the three others, deep orange blonde colour, less hazy than the others. Aroma, as said, is the most neutral of the four, with caramelly and biscuity maltiness and perfumey, citrussy, American hoppiness dominating. Like the three others, this cannot be separated from its brethren; I recommand a side by side tasting of all four and starting with this one, building up to the American Ale version, which shows the most complexity and the most attractive bouquet. If I would, however, evaluate this all by itself, I’d reckon it is among the better lagers I had so far. Difficult to judge!

Hazy amber color, average sized white head. Medium body, average carbonation. Aroma is grassy, malty and hoppy. Nothing specific pops out. Light sweet, light bitter taste. Tasty enough, but completely boring.

---Rated BY Italianbeer85

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A brown orange opaque beer with several hues. Medium white head, average retention. Fruity aroma (quince), caramel, herbs. Light to medium sweet, medium pleasant bitter. Medium body and texture, good carbonation, sweet finish with a bitter note. Overall, the most convincing of this series with the american ale : aroma++, taste/palate+.
