COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

Bottle in Brewdog Glasgow. Mahogany with a good off white head. Quite sweet with a nice malty taste. Coffee flavours along with some spice and pone. Liked it a lot.

tomciccateri (1018) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - NOV 11, 2014
On draught at Camden location. Pours an opaque black color with minimal head. Medium body, slightly dry dark malt flavor balance. Nice underlying malty sweetness. Subtle hop bitterness. Distinctive black lager.

inbirraveritas (1250) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 10, 2014
Draught. Deep dark brown colour with a ruby tint, small filmy beige head. Intensive coffee nose. Easy aroma ruled by coffee escorted by caramel, some bread... Somewhat thin and slick classic Schwarzbier-mouthfeel, which make it easy drinkable. Rather long and dry, tannic, roasty finish. Good.

On tap@ Csakajósör, Budapest. It is a nice schwarzbeer, well balanced, nice roasty aromas, fruits, light sourness. But is only OK, nothing special.

dark brown colour, one inch of beige head; aroma and taste of roastedness, ash, smoky and earthy notes - watery, a bit disappointing...

Hopmaestro (157) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 29, 2014
The aroma carries notes of toasted malts and of course, earthy hops. The taste evolves from a thin/medium body, a little sweetness, and a light carbonation. Aftertaste is dry and medium bitter. A decent black lager really.

Not a bad schwarzbier. Has hoppy notes that takes it somewhere near a black IPA. But not all the way. Citrus and grass from the hops. Pleasant smoked peaty taste. Fairly light.

Bottle from brewdog bar, sheffield. Deep dark red ale with off white head. Aroma is smoky and ashy. Taste is bitter and crisp. Prickly and medium.

Some roasted malts, caramel, bread, decent hops. Makes good play between roasted bitterness and hop bitterness, but finishes, bit too thin for me. Decent, but one time try
