COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

Tasted from the tap the 11/09/2014. Brown to black colour with a medium tan and foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is well balanced between the bitternes of the coffee with the sweet. Aftertaste is dry and bitter with the presence of the coffee on the mouth. Medium body with a good carbonation. Really enjoyable beer. Next one please!

This was the first Brewdog I?ve ever had and therefore has a special meaning to me.Best before date was 09/08/2014, drunk on September 6, 2014.When I opened the bottle, it immediately foamed over. That was a crazy gusher. Still smelled fine, though.Pure black color with grey foam. Strong aroma or roasted malts and coffee in the nose. Starts off surprisingly fresh, but the roasted coffee immediately takes over. Bitter finish, smooth carbonation. Some people might call it "overroasted", and I can understand it.Tastes like I remembered it, as far as I can tell. It?s the beer that got me into craft beer, so it has a special place in my heart.

0,3l Flasche. Schwazes Bier mit beiger Schaumkrone. Riecht stark nach Röstmalzen. Schmeckt nach Röstmalzen und Kaffee. Sehr bitter durch die starke Röstung, fast ein bischen zuviel.

330ml brown bottle, label is the usual simple BrewDog design, logo and weathered typography, poured into a lager glass. Appearance is opaque brownish black with a medium sized tan head, that when reduced left lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and rye sourdough bread. Flavours of roasted malts, dark chocolate, rye sourdough bread, nutty notes and a hint of coffee. Taste is light-medium sweet and light-medium bitter. Palate is medium-light bodied, soft texture and average carbonation. BrewDog brews many better beers than the Zeitgeist, I would have liked this beer fuller bodied. With that said it’s still an okay beer for the style.

Colaachtige kleur met een volle lichtbruine kraag. Ruikt fruitig, caramel, vanille. Smaakt bitterzoet, koffie, hop en iets gebrand. Apart maar wel lekker.

Thick black body and a brown lasting creamy head. Aroma of roasted malt, black coffee and licorice. The taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a bitter finish from the roasted malt. Sticky texture.

Bottle. Dark brown body, tall beige head. Aroma has cola, coffee and some cocoa. The aroma resembles some Imperial Stouts - just close your eyes and smell it again. Sweet roasty taste with more cola and cocoa. Good roast and bitterness. A nice Schwarzbier but the commercial description is really TL;DR.
