COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

330ml bottle. Pours near solid black with brown tinges, slight beige head that disappears almost immediately. Smells dominately of cola with some malt hiding underneath. A little light on taste, with that odd cola/malt following through from the nose and a little light and bubbly on the palate. Not overly impressive.

michael-pollack (4960) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of black bread, roasted malt, light rye, and light chocolate. Poured very deep amber/dark brown in color with a large, creamy, dense, tan/brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of light roasted malt, light black bread, and slight chocolate. Medium body. Slick, creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Roasted malt and slight chocolate finish is smooth. A very smooth, drinkable beer.

birrarium (12) - USA - JUN 12, 2010

330ml bottle from brewdog.com, pours very dark brown/black, tan head, disappears quickly. Nose; roasted, malty, smokey, slighty sweet (caramel). Palate; roasted coffee, dark chocolate, lightly hoppy, coca-cola notes, suprisingly light body. Very drinkable Schwartz beer.

Aroma’s of roasting, dark chocolate. Taste was a littel smoked, and a little dark chocolate. No hop, mainly just malt. It appeared a dark red. I found it to be easy drinking. Could put a session of these away any day.
