COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

330ml bottle. This is a great example of a black lager. Dark in appearance with an off white head. Smells of cocoa powder and coffee. Mouth feel is thin but not watery. Taste is of bitter hops and malt - none of that overly sweet flavour you get with macros and also not too carbonated. A very sessionable and enjoyable beer.

(draught) pours a clear deep ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of caramel, roasted malts, brown sugar, red grapes and a hint of liquorice. flavour is mostly dark chocolate, charred malts and caramel, with a hint of herbal hops and some light alcohol. light to medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Black body with light brown tiny head, that quickly diminishes and leaves a few patches on top. Charcoal, exhaust fumes, liquorice and hints of coffee. It’s like a city morning. Roasted malt, anise, dark fruits and some smoke. As always I love the design! 330ml bottle from my local supermarket. Enjoyed@home (14.May 2013)

One of BrewDogs best brews. No soap flavor in this but plenty of malt and balanced bitterness. Best schwarzbier I had drunk from a non-German brewery!

Aroma has caramel, roast, some chocolate, some yeast and fruit. Clear, black coloured beer with an off-white/beige coloured head. The taste is a bit sweet, has caramel and chocolate malts, some grapes. Slightly thin brew.

Black. Aroma: Coffee, licorice, slightly hoppy, roast and caramel. Taste: Way roastier. Coffee, licorice, bready and earthy. A pretty dry palate. I was so happy when I stumbled upon this one, because I felt BrewDog really needed something darker in their core lineup. This is right down that path and it does it well. Sessionable.

Thin scent. The taste is really good. The aftertaste is also good but disappears too fast I think. Recommend this beer anyway.

Bottle from Brugsen, hammel, DK - pours a dark inky brown/black with a slight tan head. Roasted and slightly smokey toasted malt, caramel chocolate nuances throughout this.

A very comfortable beer. Best after a tasty roast beef of lamb, or such, to even things out. Altogether soft and easy, still with a full body. This time I had it right after BrewDogs Hardcore IPA, and the difference could not be greater. Denne ölen er perfekt til å drikke imens man venter på deserten. Go fyllnad og fin balance. Rekommenderes sterkt.
