Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

Bottle 330 ml. What a great beer this is, nice pitch black colour, medium beige foam which stays a bit, good aroma combined with the Swartz taste is really good, not to mention the after taste of anis and the soft consistency f the beer it self. :-)

Bottle 330 ml at home, from a trade with Countbeer, thanks! Poured into a tall tulip, ABV 4.7% Dark brown in colour wih a small and thin light beige head. Average retention, light lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee, light chocolate, liquorice. Taste is slighty better but nothing to be too excited for, again coffee, lighter liquorice, some hops giving a nice bitterness quite fast and carrying on the aftertaste, along with dark chocolate. Thin body, okay carbonation. Mixed feelings about this beer, is nothing spectacular but it leaves a good impression at the end. I’d say it’s a decent example.

An easy to drink beer with a little bitterness in it. Some chemical off-flavors makes this beer falls short of my expectations, but on the whole a pretty good beer.

Pours black with decent head. Roasted and hoppy scents with crisp bread and citrus. Palate is slightly thin but well balanced with good lingering bitterness and toffee-like tastes.

Dark color and head. Quite rich roasty dark smell and full body taste with roasty taste. Rather sweet too which is not my favorite, but still a very good dark ale.

Shared a 33cl bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with some reflections and a tan head. Aroma is liquorice, malty, caramel, hops and coffee. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is more bitter than sweet with a dry finish. Overall, a very nice dark beer but not necessarily remarkable.
