COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeitgeist is an ideosyncratic alternative black lager It seeks to recreate the spirit, attitude and autonomy of an age gone by. Its inspiration is found more than 200 years ago. Zeitgeist takes an age old classic, a forgotten masterpiece and gives it relevance and an avant-garde edge. Zeitgeist encapsulates our view of contemporary society, yet simultaneously endeavours to improve it. There is too much conformity. Not enough thought, not enough individualism, not enough alternatives. Our military line ups represent conformity to a higher authority, be it political, brand, celebrity, religion or trend. The subjects in our dystopian landscape further seek to repress their identity through uniforms and masks. Yet underneath their body shapes reveal cracks of personality and individualism. Zeitgeist is about identity, non-conformity and idiosyncrasy. It is a collective, an idea, a movement. It is about giving up ownership of itself to those who care enough to listen.

I love a good schwarzbier, and this is one of them. Aroma is typical for style, choc & coffee plus some v slight phenol. Full malty flavour raisins toffee, some toasty bite. Sweet slightly alcholic finish. Pretty good

Very nice dark red body with small tan head, aroma is light roasted malt and a hint of fruits, taste is bitter with some roasted malt, aftertaste is long lasting bitterness, i am missing aroma hops and the special twist which some brewdog beers have.

Bottle (330 ml). Dark brown with a medium beige head and little lacing. Aroma is soft with light fruits, light chocolate, light roasted and light sweetness notes. Taste is slightly sweet and as soft as aroma... fruits, chocolate, roasted malt and caramel. No bitterness. Light body. A tad watery. Not complex at all, but really easily drinkable and no major flaws.

330 ml bottle. Pours an opaque, weak tinted orangeish-brownish BLACK with a short lasting beige head. Aroma is ash and roast. Flavor is ash, coffee, dark fruits (blackberries, cherries), roast. Finish is dry, burnt flavored. Light to medium body, velvety mouthfeel, weak carbonation. Not bad.

pours dark brown, red tint, with a nice beige head, some retention and lacing. chocolate, fresh chocolate beans, decent mild fruitiness, relatively sweet aroma of caramel (taste turns out quite dry), grass, some minerals. average carbonation, light body - a tad watery, short but fairly present grassy-earthy finish. not very complex, but nothing negative to say about this well executed brew. quaffable schwartz.
