dark brown pour , small tan head. nutty taste with a slight bitter after taste.

On tap at the station. When I had this, I thought it said appilation amber, could have been wrong. Has a lot of alky impact but not like 8% would indicate. Dark iced tea color. Leathery but lite in body in the palate. Very little aroma. Finish is not bad for such a high alky brew. If this is really an 8% beer, it hides its alky well.

Tap at the brewpub. Very malty and sweet; full-bodied without being overpowering. They claim it’s 8% ABV but does not taste anywhere close to that. Decent quaffer.

Pours lehigh brown with a finger of khaki head and some nice maltiness on the nose. Taste is a bit nutty but also astringent in a weird way. Finishes a bit like mouthwash. Too bad. It started off rather promising.

On tap at Pints for Pets. Mild toasted and raw grain aroma, sweet with some caramel and little hops. Dark amber, light copper notes, clear with some haze, topped with light foamy lacing off-white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of dusty grain, raw grain - like grist - with some caramel, mild fruity esters and a little bit of fruity hops. Very light carbonic acidity, finishes clean with a little sweetness. Mild iced tea flavor. After is very lightly bitter, with some grain notes.

Draught at the brewpub. Vinous aroma, some wine gum. Cloudy brown colour. The flavour starts off vinous as well. Gets a little sweet with some spice, perhaps mild aniseed. Slightly medicinal.
