This traditional British style India Pale Ale is graced with monstrous portions of three styles of hops. With a huge bite and a big hop profile, it may become a legend in its own right!

Flight from the pub. Pours transparent light amber with a layer of cream colored head. Aroma hints at floral hops and citrus. Taste of bitterness without much complexity.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5168) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 15, 2013
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a hazy caramel-brown color with a huge creamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was fairly strong grapefruit and lemon. The flavor was tangy nut, caramel, grapefruit and a moderate rough earthy presence. Long rough earthy, nut and caramel finish. Moderately full bodied.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear light orange/yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, floral hops, bitter earthy hops. Flavor is quite bitter, perhaps even a touch astringent, with bitter earthy hops in the finish. Ok ipa, quite bitter though. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2012 Very little hoppy aroma, if any. Yes, quite hoppy bitter but at first I didn’t think I tasted any hops. It evolves from the time it hits your tongue till the time it goes down the gullet. Gets more and more hoppy bitterness in there as the session continues. Nice lacing in this brew. leaves a medium hop bitterness on the finish but I must say, it is below average on hop bitterness compared to most IPA on this site. I don’t like IPA, so if you do, ignore my numbers and give this a try, you may like it.

on tap at the restaurant. not much of an aroma, some hope. seemed like a great example of what a british IPA should be. nice citrus hops with a strong fruity hop finish. well done.

Pours slightly orange with a finger of white foam. Not much in the nose. If I really really focus I might get a hint of hop flavor. Clean finisher. Pretty boring.

Caramel orange, off white foam. Aroma is malty sweet, some herbal hoppiness, not overwhelmingly hoppy. Taste is caramel, toast, grassy, herbal hop finish, just a touch of metallic maltiness.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy dark orange colour. Almost no head. Citric flavour. Orange juice? Strange milk acid flavour. Not an IPA, and certainly not a monster one.
