Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a very dark brown - almost black color with a small foamy tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was faintly dry and woody. The flavor was dry, woody and a bit roasty with hints of nut and floral hops.Medium length dry, wood and floral hop finish. Medium body. Eh.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, chocolate malt, light vanilla, caramel. Flavor is sweet with maple, chocolate, and sweet caramel malt. A bit sweet but nice flavor profile.

On Tap. Pours brown thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate caramel and nuts. Taste is mild sweet. Medium body, ave carbonation, mild bitter finish. Overall well balanced brown.

Dark, malty, smooth. Better aftertaste. I didn’t like it very much at first, but it grew on me. Came highly recommended by our server. Upon further analysis, I think I prefer this over the double bock.

On tap at the brewerie. Nice and dark fer sure. Rootbeer in color. Slight slaggy aroma, but in a good way. Slag aroma carries over to the flavor. Pretty good and one of the better brewerie beers IMHO. Has some porter attributes in there. Grows on you during the session. decent amount of co2. Finsih is not bad, went down easy.

Pours dark brown with an inch of khaki foam. Nice maltiness on the nose which becomes less pronounced on the tongue. Finishes clean. Not bad for style.
