4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at brewery. A moderate roast in the nose with some grassiness. Taste is like a chocolate/coffee combo. Short of a harsh roastiness. Quite pleasant and I am not a fan of this style. Light citrus and grass in the flavor from the hops. good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Roadhouse BBQ, Bangkok. Poured a hazy dark amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big citrus hop. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich malt, alcoholic woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. A suitable anniversary beer! The taste of Singapore in Thailand and that’s very welcome.

on tap at the brewpub. more like a medium brown pig. anyways, short-lived head as with all brewerkz beers; aroma of cocoa powder and fruit salad; some alcohol showing but still not bad for 8% abv; kiwifruit skin aftertaste. curious and okay

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Faint hop aroma with a hint of malt, very cloudy brown in colour, no real head, lingering bitter aftertaste. OK but not great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the Taphouse by Brewerkz
The color is dark chestnut, not black, with generous compact head. The aroma is hoppy, a bit dusty and feety. Good body, full, yet lean mouthfeel, smooth; roasted malts, without being too ashy; it has very light residual sugars, a good yeast character, strong bitterness; in the final, some hop resins and .
Rough and unclean, but a good powerful brew overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
There is nothing black about this IPA. However, it is probably the most authentic American IPA. Big on malt and hops; it reminds me of DFH 90 minute. It’s a good beer, but not what they’re advertising.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at the brewpub on July 8, 2013.
Part of a 4 beer sample tray/flight.
Described at the brewpub as a "Black IPA".
Clear dark brown color, not really dark enough though as per their described "style", tan head. Sweet, hoppy, bitter, alcohol taste. Alcohol aftertaste. Warming. Smooth mouthfeel, medum high bitterness, alcohol bite. Sweet, alcohol scent.
For my taste too much focus on alcohol, not that well hidden.
