3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the brewery, showed a slightly sweet malty flavor with matching hop bitterness and flavor. No doubt assertive for the local market. I went for a second pint.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A hazy orange beer with a huge fluffy light brown head. The aroma is of straw and English hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, spices, and English hops, leading to a dry bitter end.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Orange coloured. Unclear. Creamy beige head. Light fruits, citrus and light flowers in the aroma. Flavour is on the very hoppy side. Herbs and light pine. Medium bodied. Very unbalanced and onedimensional. Very dry. Has a very sharp bitter (almost brutal as Papsoe says) end.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a hazy, amber golden with an extremely lively head - shaving foam style - leaving huge lumps as it ever so slowly dissipates. Vaguely citric hop aromas. Medium body with some caramel malt and some incredibly dry and somewhat brutal hops that leave more bitterness than aroma. Not bad, just raw and unsophisticated. Courtesy of highlandlad. 050107

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Looked quite good, with a slightly cloudy amber orange hue and last fluffy head. Some tinned fruit (peaches in mango juice?) and honey on the aroma, but not a particularly inspiring combination. The flavour is initially pleasant, with a refreshing mix of sweet and bitter, but the bitterness lingers for far too long without its balancing partner. A promising beer, but it seems to lack a bit of presence. Thanks to highlandlad for bringing this and a couple of other Brewerkz brews back from Singapore for me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A rich, big-flavoured IPA - one of the best offerings at this first-class Singaporean brewpub. It’s gentler on the stomach than the XIPA and more sessionable. Rich orange colour with terrific head retention. Big floral aroma - my notes say "lupins" but I’ve no idea why as I have no recollection of ever smelling a lupin. Dolt. Solid underbelly of caramel malts. Very clean, classic IPA aroma. Medium bodied, perhaps a tad thin. Soft mouthfeel. Lovely initial taste explosion of flowers followed by caramel, candied yams and a resinous swallow. Good lingering bitterness. A fine IPA. (Draught at brewpub)

Golden color. The aroma is hoppy with some fruitness. Some malt taste, but not enough; high bitterness but not aromatic. Modern English IPA.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled (2005 vintage, 7%, thanks tbone_). Hazy nutbrown colour, mediumsized head. Absolutely lovely hoppy aroma with caramellish malts. Flavour is hops and alcohol in good balance. Flavour also has some hints of hay, honey and nuts. Aftertaste is hayish and hoppy.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Pours a light amber with a lofty, lacy off-white head. The aroma is light for an IPA, but dominated by citrus and hay, and just a bit of fruit. The body is light, almost watery with medium carbonation. The taste has a bit of toffee and oranges with a crisp, bitter finish. A good, refreshing summer beer, but in many ways light for an IPA.
