Cloudy blond pour. Nice and refreshing but a little too bitter for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Am I the guy who liked this best? It was a well-made hefe and perfect for the weather and the food. Cloudy hazy orange, big head. Nose of some spice and yeast. Taste of yeast, pepper, clove, wheat ... Good rounded mouthfeel. Hops in the finish. Easy to drink, and no more and no less than it is supposed to be. Nicely done.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Very attractive by sight. Nice deep gold with a cloudy haze. I know it’s descibed as pale yellow - could be the lighting at the bar, as I went in the evening. Either way, the look is tops. Good blend of citrus and hops aromas, with a touch of the flora. Stoic wheat presence. But, too bitter. A tad bit hoppy as well. Starts bitter and ends on a tangy sour note. There is a nice wheaty aftertaste, although it leaves you wondering where the flowers you anticipated from the aromas all went. Rather rough on the palate. The spiciness stings a little too. Not altogether refreshing; or fresh tasting for that matter. Sad; given it’s microbrewed. Only thing truly acceptable is the carbonation. Not really value for money.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Well you can say they had a go with this one, more banana and clove driven rather than orange/coriander. Cloudy appearence with minimal head. Easy drinking with a short finish.
I am beginning to think Brewerkz could do better with more focus on fewer beers than spreading the focus too thinly.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
I confess to being a bit baffled by the wheat styles at this otherwise very good Singaporean brewpub. Tried this twice on separate visits but struggle to explain what I didn’t like about it. It looked fine, classic cloudy gold with a long-lasting lacing head. However, the aroma conjured up all sorts of unusual smells - porridge and honey, arrowroot biscuits, even the local congee. Odd mix for a hefe. Thin in the palate. In the mouth there was cumin, chocolate-coated bananas and caramel chews before a quenching finish, plus a metallic off-note. Bit too bitter for the style. Nothing against regional variations in style but this didn’t really seem to hang together. (Draught at brewpub)

Cloudy blond color. Light wheat character, dry mouthfeel, too much bitterness.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
This has a very pale yellow colour with a thin anaemic head. Slightly spicy nose but the overall aroma is poor. The palate is thin and dry on the finish with similar shortness in flavour. A poor effort overall.
