3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ChrisThomson (522) - Toronto, - JUL 25, 2009
On tap. My favourite beer I had while in Singapore!! Pours deep amber with a good amount of hoppy bite, well balanced by caramel malts. Great beer, and something you shouldn’t leave Singapore without trying.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 19, 2011
A hazed amber IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, doughy malt with light grassy hops, honey notes. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt, lightly vinous, some nice treacle, with a bit of funky hops signature. More barley wine than olde ale, very nice. On tap at brewpub, July 11, 2011.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Stew41 (1457) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUN 6, 2011
An obvious soup up of the basic IPA. Sweet hops and malts are not completely unexpected but quite well contained. That said, seems much stronger than the stated 7 percent abv. Actually to be fair this is actually very pleasant and a material step up on the other beers sampled from this house.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 23, 2011
Lemon, malt, bread, grass, caramel malt in the nose. Nice malt character. Cloudy, dull copper color. Very malty flavor: nice, spicy, with rich chocolate and caramel. Grassy hops. Smooth and rich palate. Decent and kind of original but not all that special. More hop aroma would be nice.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TimE (2068) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 22, 2011
Amber golden color. Lots of pale and caramel malts. Fairly simple, caramel and grapefruits. OK balanced, but I would like more hops, dry hopping this would be fun. A touch of earthiness in the finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2010
Bright golden. Faint aroma but maybe with some citrus. Citrusy with hints of berry. Some nice fruity notes but otherwise pretty understated for the style.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (4712) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 22, 2010
Draft @ brewpub, indicated as 7%. Luminescent copper with a great thick head. Aroma is not forthcoming! So many Brewerkz beers have stingy bouquets. Especially a double IPA should wham the nose. Not so. I have to strain to smell some floral hops and get a hint of heat along with it. Body is medium-sturdy. Can tell it’s strong. Has a bit of chewiness but not much. Fruity with strength apparent. Is not bad after all and one of the better house brews.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Borresteijn (2757) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 24, 2009
Sampler at Brewerkz, ABV 7%. Light hazy amber orange colour, light off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel and fruits. Flavour is malty, caramel, light sweet, floral hoppy bitter finish. One of the better beers from Brewerkz.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nate2g (1548) - Marlborough, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 26, 2009
Draught at Brewerkz, Singapore. Amber with a medium white head. Pleasant hoppy aroma of stone fruit esp apricot from the english hops. Biscuit malt, stone fruit and some caramel in the flavour. Medium bodied and hopped up bitterness. Malty finish. A great English style double IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dredd (591) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JUL 12, 2009
Great Double IPA. Nice sweet and hoppy aroma with great dark amber body. Flavour is nice up front stonefruit which transfers to a firm and loing bitterness but without the "Challenge" a lot of others present. There is no acridity in the finish like a lot of Double IPA’s, great beer.
