Gettysburg Wheat, an unfiltered American wheat ale, is flavored with peach puree and a hint of lemon zest. The inspiration for this project comes from the location where the historic battle took place. Tom Flores, brewmaster, suggested the combination, “based on my reading of the various troop movements during the Battle. I noticed on diagrams of the battlefield maps that a peach orchard stood beside the infamous wheat field and has since served as a landmark for historians and reenactors.” Together, the wheat and peaches used in Gettysburg Wheat tangibly introduce the environment of the battlefield to the drinker, reinforcing the commemorative experience.

hazy golden staw, puffy white homogeneous head, thin white ring with decent lacing. Light grain, citrus notes all over, thankfully low esters. Floral flavor, perfume strong, stronger dry wheat through the end. Nice carbonation. Very classy wheat, if not to style.

12oz bottle pours a clear, dark gold with some filmy white head. Lots of pineapple in the nose, soap, grass, tangerine. Flavor is sweet, some melon, pineapple, soap, orange juice. Bitter finish. Odd, but also tasty.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark straw color. Plenty of carbonation - thick, pillowy white head. Tart aroma. Medium-light body. Tastes a bit lighter than your average wheat with a little bit of lemon tartness. Finish is slightly dry with a bit of the tartness. Good beer, I’ll probably get this one again.

Bottle. Lighter wheat beer, slightly hazy yellow, with foamy head. Lots of carbonation, refreshing, some lemon flavors but not overpowering. More similar to In Heat Wheat than an Oberon. Overall a pretty good wheat. I would have again.
