COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the lightest style of weizen beer. The grist contains a large portion of wheat, which lends a distinctive note to the malt body and aroma. This style has significant haze and cloudiness. Also, it has been brewed with a traditional Bavarian weizen yeast, which gives it a pronounced clove and spicy character, as well as banana and bubblegum, and even some slight vanilla notes. Available June through September.

Yellow like a weizen would be. Smell is bubblegum and banana. Taste adds clove, with a clovey aftertaste. Far better than what I’m used to tasting from american wheats.

Hazy pour. Lots of citrus, lemon and light fruit in the aroma and flavor. A good beer for the mourning. Very smooth and easy to drink. Light body.

Tap at brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with light, fizzy white head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma is malty with banana and light cloves, no hops. Flavor is sugary banana, some clove, spicy wheat malt, and a lightly sweet finish. Light body, low warmth and carbonation.

pours slightly cloudy and the color if pineapple juice. Some estery notes on the nose. Theres lots of Banana and Clove on the tongue but also the slight taste of bubble gum. Finishes clean. Good example of the style.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark cloudy amber color with a foamy head. Aroma is bready and matches the meaty wheat flavor. There is a mild bitterness and the brew finishes clean.

Powerful sweet flavors... some yeast / citrus, but also others. Good cloudy, full appearance, light carbonation, clean finish. Nice Hefe... served at restaurant, but was a little too cold for this type of beer. Recommend as a good choice for this on tap.

On tap at the brewpub on 7/20/09: Pours a cloudy pale golden with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a sweet estery banana and clove spice nose. Starts with average fullness and good malted wheaty sweetness with a smooth and peppery clove finish. Could use a little more thickness.

Location: On tap at the Brew Pub, 9/5/09

Aroma: Lemony/citrus, banana, fairly typical hefe nose
Appearance: Hazy yellow pour, thin white head
Flavor: Malty and wheat flavor, spice (coriander)
Palate: Medium body, standard hefe mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I liked this beer enough, but I am a bit surprised by it’s high marks. I mean it is basically a standard hefe, but I didn’t really find much standout about it.

Nice golden rich coloured body. Mild malty scent with yeast and curacao coming out. Medium-bodied; Strong malty and wheat flavour with coriander seed and a tiny bit of spices noticeable. Aftertaste shows a bit of a body with some nuts too. Overall, a good hef - definitely one to sample at a festival! I sampled this six ounce sample from pseudo-draught at the Old Dominion 2005 Beer Festival on 24-June-2005 in Ashburn, Virginia.
