Not my favorite kolsch, pretty mellow. Nice honey flavor, but doesnt have some of the grassy flavors of some others. Sweet and creamy. Not my favorite, but ok.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 kramer (3880) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a one finger fizzy white head that faded pretty quickly. The nose is bready and crackery maltiness, but there’s also an odd fruity note that smells a bit like grape soda instead of the yeast derived fruitiness that I’m expecting. The flavor is a little too sweet for the style in my opinion, there’s nothing about this that would make me guess Kolsch, versus your average Golden Ale. Lightly bready maltiness, a minimal hop addition, and finishes with a little more sweetness than I care for. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation and a slightly clingy finish. I suppose I’ll have to go to Cologne if I really want to have a well made version of the style.

Smells like a lot of pale malt, looks like a pale beer. Tastes like dry pale malt, not much else.
