COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style originated in the area of Cologne, Germany. It exhibits the more desirable features of both ales and lagers. Our Kolsch is pale gold with light body and a slightly dry palate. It has a mild bitterness and delicate hop aroma. This beer is a clean and pleasant thirst quencher, which earned a Bronze Medal at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival. 4.6 - 5.0% alcohol, by volume

Smells like a lot of pale malt, looks like a pale beer. Tastes like dry pale malt, not much else.

Draft at the source. Bright yellow color, small white edge head. Aroma of white pepper. Taste of straw and white pepper. OK.

Aroma is almost an English musty character. Not traditional but unique and interesting. Taste is cereal and hay with slight carbonation. Too much caramel/toffee to be authentic but a good sessionable beer.

This beer was horrible. I’m not sure what happened. Light pour, barely noticeable aroma, conflicting flavor. I don’t know if something was wrong with the keg, batch, pour, whatever but unfortunately this is the only impression I have of this beer.

An outstanding representation of the style and a go-to slammer for me. Brilliant, clear, deep warm gold colour with a soapy white head. The nose is clean and malty with pleasant cereal grain, and sweet bready, light malt. The flavour is lightly malty and quenching with a barely-perceivable floral hop character and doughy light malt finish. The mouthfeel is on the full side for the style, yet still finishes dry enough to make you want to re-coat your mouth with is quenching, sweet malty goodness.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity grainy malty aroma. Fruity malty grainy crisp flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty grainy finish.

Not a huge fan of this beer, i think it is a little overated. High metallic taste with a but of lemon in the front and a bitterness at the end.

Pours crystal golden with a thin white head. Very crisp and clean taste with a hint of bitterness on the finish which is slightly metallic but still refreshing. Not a bad example of the form.
