COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed especially for early fall, this scrumptious lager has a deeper red color than most lager beers, and a rich maltiness. Not only does this beer match the color of autumn leaves, but it also goes well with many foods; particularly red-meat dishes with herbs, as well as grilled fish. And of course, this beer complements the classic German combination of sauerkraut and wurst.

Pretty good Oktoberfest from BA. Their beers are hit or miss for me and this wasn’t too thick and just sweet enough to put a 6 down easy.

On tap at Brewers Alley. Light Golden color with white head. Aroma is toasted malt with spicy yeast and floral hops. Flavor starts off with a light maltiness with some yeasty notes finishing with floral hops.

Draft at Scion. Poured a clear amber color, medium sized white head. Aroma was light roasted malt notes, some caramel notes. Flavor was a heavy German malts, with light earthy hops. Relatively easy drinking.

Decent for style, easy drinking. Amber pour with OK head and lacing. Some barley here and a touch of harvest there. Light bitterness. Tap at scion.

Draftt at Scion. Crystal clear amber color, huge cream colored head with good retention and swiss cheese lacing. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel. Taste is lightly spiced bittersweet toast. Light body. OK.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear brown with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt with earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is malt and hop balanced with medium bitterness, a clean lager character and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 Grabbed a few sips from my wife’s glass at the restaurant. Served in a pint glass, typical clear copper color with off-white head. Aroma is toasty and caramel malt. Taste is malt sweetness with some hop finish. Medium body. Alright for the style.

Draft. Overall, just okay... doesn’t compare to many of the Oktoberfest options available. The beer seems a bit weak and watery. Not one of BA’s best choices.

Growler on 09/26/2010. Clear copper body with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet toasty and light fruity malt aroma. Slightly grainy toast flavor. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

I have had a couple of these on tap at the brewery over the last week or two. The aroma is a malty caramel and earthy/grainy hop blend, but is not particularly strong. It has a clear amber-copper color with a very small, foamy white head that had short life. The flavor is sweet and malty, with a light touch of hoppy bitterness. Medium-density body and mouthfeel, with a slightly watery effect and lower carbonation. A solid beer for the season.
