3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerZack (116) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 16, 2008
Golden straw color with nice one-finger head that fades to some small clumps that decorate the glass on the way down.
Slightly sweet, grainy Pils malt smells, biscuits and honey, with grassy hops notes, slight citrus impression, CO2 gas.
Nice, flavorful and dry American Pils. Pale, rich maltiness that’s almost sweet, but the hops come in just in time to balance it out and more, with a spicy hop kick on the finish. Bit of lingering astringent quality.
Full bodied Pils, a bit too strong on the carbonation, doesn’t have that creaminess a great Pils has.

Bottle from Hopscotch TODAY! Appears to be first bottle rating! Nose of light hops and a strange (bitter?) aroma i’ve never smelled in any other beer I’ve rated! Slightly hazy gold with a small and rapidly disappearing white head. Flavor has some malt, grain, and a hint of butterscotch with a faint hop bitterness for a finish in the medium-light body.

Thanks to bstill for bringing these to the campout. Nice pale golden color with a nice white head. Aroma is very doughy and bready with some cream of wheat and good herbal hop spiciness as well. Good light toasted amlts, but moslty pils, fresh baked bread and hints of wheat. Good crisp hop bitterness and incredibly smooth. Pretty nice bottled pilsner from a brand I had never heard of. I was pleasantly surprised.

My kind of beer. Restrained, but some very nice hop flavor, more along the lines of Oskar Blues Pils than Victory Prima. Malty in the same way of Oskar Blues. Very nice, and I find its State of Origin to be a bonus (I’m such a homer).

Pale, golden/amber appearance with a small white head and good lacing. Grainy, cut straw aroma along with a touch of spice coming from the hops. Toasted malt taste, respectably hopped, moderately bitter. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel with a crisp, dry finish.

Bottle from State Line. Hazy deep golden pour with a floral hop, spicy, and and bready pale malt nose, leading to flavors of dry, Saaz hops, crisp pale malt, and some fisnihing fruity notes. Stays rather dry but very hoppy, with a spicy, bready, sort of slight Belgian funky note accompanying the hops all the way along, and it works very well for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cletus (6064) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 29, 2006
Bottle courtesy of hopscotch. Pours gold with a rocky white head. Smells perfumy with malty undertones and some underlying citrus. Tastes citrussy with some nice spicy bittering hops and a decent malt backbone. More citrus qualities are present on the finish along with some Jolly Rancher hints. Mouthfeel is light and tingly. Well done!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Stine (1399) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - MAY 31, 2008
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle. Glassy yellow. Clean hay and strawlike aroma. Some honey, lightly floral. Quiet. Touch of pear. Flavor is dryly sweet and refreshing; some grassiness and biscuty malt forming the center, wicking only lightly dry at mid palate, never quite dry enough. Lightly chewy sweet mouthfeel; sparkly and crisp. More honey and grains than dusty german bitterness most commonly; cereals, grass, starch. Refreshing mineral dryness at the very end. Thanks Ken!
