3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler... Clear, deep amber lager with a large, frothy, cream-colored head. Toasted caramel, praline and bread in the aroma. The flavor is all toasted caramel and bread with herbal hops. Good balance. A tad thin. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel with gentle carbonation. Finishes crisp and clean.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear light amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that had pretty decent retention. The nose is dry toasted malt with a light fruitiness and just a light hint of hops. The flavor is fairly dry, with a light chocolate malt note on the finish. A little dusty tasting late in the finish though, and there is an almost complete lack of hops. Light bodied and easy drinking with soft gentle carbonation. This is OK, and certainly drinkable, but there’s not a whole lot of character to it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 10/25/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly malty, with some caramel, nuts, a light grass, and some earth
Appearance: It pours an amber-ruby-orange color, there’s a beige head, and a little lace
Flavor: The taste leans nutty and a little sweet, with caramel, and some grassy and earthy undertones
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft carbonation, a smooth mouthfeel, and lightly dry finish
I thought this was a really solid beer. I didn’t really get a lot of the spice described on the bottle, it felt more nutty to me, but otherwise, I think Brewer’s Art hit right on what they were trying to make. Also, this is the first beer I’ve had that was brewed for someone’s wedding since NickD717’s "Something Borrowed Something Brewed," so there’s that...

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A decent alt that had a good malt flavor. At first it was a little bit uneventuful but the finish and palate was nice.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a smallish antique white head. A crisp aroma of caramel, grains, and some spiciness. Thin to medium-bodied on the way down. A tad sweet upfront in the taste with some caramel and a rich breadiness. A hint of vanilla in the background. A fairly dry finish with the slightest touch of bitter citrus. Some graininess and subtle spiciness all the way through. Light, refreshing, and drinkable, but far from the most exciting thing out there.
