3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL bottle courtesy of lackenhauser shared with the Brick Store crowd.
As with the Le Canard we opened, the cork on this one popped with some serious power and foam started coming out the bottle. Pours a clear golden amber with a huge fluffy white head that lasts forever and leaves tons of lacing.
The aroma is fairly sweet with plenty of yeast that lends a slight spiciness to the character as well. Pears, apples and biscuity malts also factor in the smell in minimal doses.
The taste is a tad sweeter than the aroma. The fruits come out a little more with the apples showing out. The light malts and yeast come in more in the finish as the spiciness of the yeast lingers on palate for a while.
The mouthfeel is extremely lively with lots of carbonation, probably a little too much honestly.
This is only my second beer from Brewers Art, and, like the first, it’s a well-constructed brew that shows extremely good drinkability. Good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Brewpub in Baltimore. My friends and I sat upstairs, the more posh of the two bars at this joint. Later we found out the downstairs bar was actually quite a bit more interesting. Ozzy pours gold with a white head from one of the coolest wooden taps I’ve seen. The aroma is grassy, biscuity, and spiced with coriander. The flavor is soft, with a surprisingly floral-hop quality, along with grass, white ginger, and sugar. Palate is light and prickly. Nice, but a little "soft" for my taste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at HSBG. Thanks to Scott for bringing this one. Pour is light golden with white lacy head. Aromas of spice, yeast, and some sweet fruit. Flavor is dry and somewhat sweet. Yeast and a nice hop note dominate this one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
"A portion of the proceeds will benefit bat conservation programs.". Off to a good start on this one without even opening the bottle.
Pours like a stereotypical Belgian pale- light golden yellow color with a shitload of soft, fizzy head.
Smells also remain typical- and good. A bit of dank, earthy bitterness melds with a good helping of smooth, dry sugar cookies.
Flavor continues the trend- solid, well done, if lacking in uniqueness, belgian pale. A bit more aggressive hop bite up front, with noticeable and pronounced bitterness on the front end. Body of thin sugary sweetness with some light notes of green apples and black pepper.
Very dry, semi-sweet finish.
Overall very good brew- not especially unique or innovative, but a solid take on a good style.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle sent to me by Captain Kitty and enjoyed in my Big Arse Karmeliet tulip: Nice golden hue with a fluffy head. "Voices, A Thousand, Thousand Voices... Whispering, The Time Has Passed For Choices... Golden Days Are Passing Over, Yeah"
The aroma has notes of classic Belgian yeast, bready and earthy, classic DUVAL like hop acidity and spicy vapours, and a hint of cracked winter wheat and red rye. "Howling in shadows... Living in a lunar spell... He finds his heaven... Spewing from the mouth of hell"
A wonderful balance of sweet malt and an overdose of noble and hint of PNW hop bitterness and fruity overtones. The Goldings hops really shine forward with a nice hop spice finish as well. " Your life style to me seemed so tragic...With the thrill of it all... You fooled all the people with magic... Yeah, you waited on Satan’s door".
Brilliant lively mouth feel with a drier woody finish, fits with the framework of the flavor profile."There’s no point in screaming
’Cos you won’t be heard... Now the tables have turned... It was the ultimate sin"::: Beer geeks rejoice, this is a "gimmick" beer that actually delivers, A touch more fresh hops and I would be drinking a Duval clone, brilliant!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught into the standard logo chalice at the brewpub. Gold with a small white head. Spicy hops and fruity yeast in the aroma. light pale malt sweetness underpins light pear flavors and a fat, spicy and herbal hop character. Finishes dry with a light lingering bitterness. Has the best name in the world. This one definitely rivals Duvel for me in that style.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A golden ale with a thin white head. A wonderful herbal malt and wild grass aroma, with a bit of Brett. In mouth, a good malt base with orange peels, vanilla. Light bodied, yet very quaffable for a strong ale. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 28 2008.
