3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 italarican (797) - Astoria, New York, USA - MAY 8, 2011
Bottle my buddy picked up for me while home on spring break. Pours a hazy gold with massive white head. Aroma has those belgian ale qualities but with a stronger vegetal quality. Notes of lemon peel, caramel, yeast, and brussel sprouts. Flavor is more vegetal than I’d expect: notes of edamame with toasted almonds, yeast, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is awesome: soft, slightly velvety with some earthiness and plenty of yeast. A bit weird but well-balanced and really enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rciesla (5500) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 4, 2011
Bottle. Pours a golden orange body with a white head and a nice lacing and little retention. Aromatically dusty and herbal body with floral peppercorns. Dry and herbal grass tones with a bitter pine resins. Very spicy with ah little warmth. Nice offering the drying is rather strong and doesn’t deliver the sweeter fruit tones you see in traditional Belgian beers.

Pours golden yellow and doesn’t leave a lot of lacing. Not a lot of aroma. Taste has some dryness to it but I don’t get rich particularly. I can’t see people putting away glass after glass of this stuff. Finishes with a hint of maltiness. I can’t say I’m feeling this one.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 hypn0toad (178) - Maryland, USA - APR 23, 2011
This is like a more mild, better blue moon. I like it. I had a bud lite after this because my throat was a bit sore but i didn’t want water. That was a mistake. It was much worse. Actually I had another good beer after this one, and then the bud lite but the bud lite was the memorably bad part of the evening. I’m sorry beer people, I have dishonored you all. Would drink again A++.
