COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our answer to the Belgian «devil» beers (i.e. Lucifer, Duvel, etc.). Both rich and dry, this beer is all too easy to consume in large quantities. Hopped with Styrian Goldings.

Draft. Clear golden hue with dissipating white head. Nose is subtle, but sweet malts and spices peek through. Flavor is pure Duvel clone with a bit more bitter grassy hop presence and spice profile, nice complexity and dry finish. An impressive angle on a Belgian classic, smooth and easy at 7%!

2009 Bottle - Pours a beautiful hazy golden with a large off white head...aroma is very inviting, malty and spicy, dough and honey, very lightly herbal...flavour shows a ton of that herbal quality, almost tea-like, with lemon and honey, grain and a sweet malt finish...light despite a ton of flavour...this was awesome

Got to try this at an RB/BA tasting at the "hannont" abode a few weeks ago, thanks to someone from MD. Colour... light, cloudy straw with a thick head that dissipated quickly. Nose... very floral and hoppy with hints of yeast and tea. Palate... sweet, lightly caramel-like with yeast and toffee.

750ml bottle courtesy of Lunch. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow to amber with a one finger foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of bread, yeast, grain, spice, caramel, honey, light floral esters. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, honey, spice, floral esters, yeast, grain, earthy elements. Medium body with a light floral spice and malt finish. Not Duvel, but not bad.

Bottle, 75cl corked, courtesy of fonefan. It’s an almost clear, golden beer topped by a big, white head. Grainy, fruity nose with citrus, white sugar and a touch of spicyness. Pretty much the same in the mouth, full-bodied, well carbonated and with a warming alcohol burn. Nice bitterness that lasts. A bit more edgy than Duvel, but definately a nice beer. Would expected a darker beer to honor the prince of darkness though. 091024

A: Pours a pale yellow hue with a big white head. Lots of fizz rising to the top as tiny bubbles. S: Nice blend of spice, apple, pale malt and sweet fruit. T: Fruity with a nice spice blend. Hints of hay and a bit of bitter hops in the finish. M: On the lighter side. Nice snappy carbonation. D: An okay version of the style.
