Citric spicy nose. Dark golden, restained carbonation, low lacing head. Quite fruity, slight spice, a bit belgian funk.

Cheers jim! Hazy golden body with white head. Nice funky smell. Very fruity and smooth. Feel like it wants to be tart but its not.

Well done stateside interpretation of the Belgian classic, Ozzy is clear golden with a nose of candi sugar and banana. Lightly sweet with a fruity hoppy finish.

C&C 750 mL bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours a hazy golden color with tons of visible carbonation. Large pillowy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, yeast, bread, stone fruits and a spicy finish. The taste is citrus, stone fruits, strawberry, spices and a hoppy finish. Full bodied. Lively carbonation.

Tasted on 12/15/11 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle obtained in a trade, I don’t see a date on the bottle, but I think I got it sometime around the beginning of 2011. The beer pours a bright orange color with massive, rocky off-white head that slowly recedes to uneven lace, leaving thick lace along the inside of the glass, with sparkling bubbles beading to the top. The nose is dry and fruity with dried orange peel, biscuit malt, and spices that derive from hops, and a spicy yeast aroma. The flavor is more of the same, very dry up front, the orange peel has a hint of sweetness, with the biscuit, spicy yeast, and some hops bitterness as well. The body is medium with a somewhat sticky texture, lively stinging carbonation, and a long, spicy and dry orange peel finish.

Bottle. Pours with a hazy yellow body with a lasting rocky white head. Aromas are grainy, mild alcohol, lightly herbal, peppery, phenol and sage. Somewhat muted. Flavors are peppery, musty, bready malt, alcohol, grainy, earthy and ginger. Lively bubbles, dry.

Tap. Pours clear gold with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with faint lacing. Aroma is straw, meal, and biscuit malt, Belgian yeast fruity esters, apple, pear, Candi sugar and no hops. Flavor is malt with huge yeast derived esters, faint to no hops, and a dry finish. Medium-full body, medium warmth and carbonation.

Pours a hazy golden color with a big head and good lace.

The aroma has a good dosing of earthy hoppiness, some soap, indistinct fruit, and light spice.

The flavor is mildly bitter but hoppy in a lightly spicy way, the beer is not particularly sweet but it’s not really very dry either.

Enjoyable.

Truthfully, I like this better than duvel. Lightly fruity banana lemon. Semi sweet but more dry. Very large carbonation. Clear yellow pour with extremely large white foamy head.
