Tap, Max’s American Craft Beer Fest. Pours a hazy, golden-amber color; off-white head with good lacing. Candy sugar and bubblegum in the aroma; some chewy cloves and esters. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: esters and vanilla upfront; nice levels of carbonation and spice; very drinkable; hides its alcohol well. Lengthy, chewy ester and yeasty finish.

Floral and sugary aroma with some helpful yeasties. Flavor fell a bit flat for me, though maybe it was because this was not the 1st brew of the night as it probably should have been. Palate is wonderfully refreshing, highly attenuated.

Draft at Max’s. Cloudy amber dark orange color, murky. Has a white head, only about a quarter-inch thick. Soft and pillowy on the tongue, then spicy and peppert, then soapy and fruity... finishing soft and pasty. Very perfumy in the nose, but mostly full of soapy fruit in the flavor. Strange overall, not a mainstream saison... but has some nice dry sour oranges and peach rind flavors. Good sour fruit flavors.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2007 [Draft @ Max’s] Poured a hazy, golden color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chamomile, strawberries, vanilla, red grapes, light yeast, and citrus fruits. Taste of orange peel, tropical fruits, citrus, and an earthy yeastiness. A light sourness, seemingly grapes, in the finish.
