Hazy orange appearance with an average size head that left good lacing on the glass. Yeasty aroma developed as it reapproached room temerature. An herbal, pepper spice taste that was balanced by a fruity, green apple flavor. Slightly bitter, dry finish.

Pours dark chestnut with small tan head. Nose shows ginger, orange, anise and cupcakes. Thick mouthfeel with a spritzy finish that scrapes the tongue. Well blended flavors.

Tap at Brewers Art Holiday Beer Tasting 09. Pours a deep dark woody brown with a nice lasting head. Aroma is spicy, ginger, earthy, phenolic, almost an anise kick as well- deep dark toasted malts, light nutty hints and slight chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet, anise, herbs, spice, gingerbread, and mint green grassy with some nutty slightly burnt malts, caramel and toffee, biscuit as well- airy dry bubbly finish- Nice.

Spicey, malty nose. Brown with no head. A sweet brown ale with a hint of fruit and defined spiciness. A bit of alcohol warmth in the finish.

A clear dark brown ale with a thin white head. A nice nutty malt with orange peels, a bit funky and herbal, quite nice. In mouth, a nice light licorice wafting through the malt, a bit of chocolate, medium bodied. Very nice indeed. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 28 2008.

Tap. Amber pour with decent head. Very hearty and very warming. It’s texture was a bit flat though, I enjoy Holiday beers with a bit more behind them. Great ginger taste. Very enjoyable.

Clear, dark woody brown. ginger is the predominant flavor over a sweetish caramel ale. Acidic, fruit. Good bittering. I’m such a sucker for gingerbeer. Finishes out with a side-of-the-tongue, spicy, hop bitterness. Medium body.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2007 nice reddish brown color with a nice long lasting head. had fresh on draft at brewers art and it had a nice wintery spice flavor...having it in a growler that was about 2 weeks old it had a much stronger pronounced ginger flavor. went down extremly smoth and easy for a beer of this alcohol content

This beer tastes like Christmas. A bit too much for me. I’ve heard others say it was turning, and I agree.
