3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 JDBaker11058 (677) - Maryland, USA - JUL 23, 2011
Appearance: buttery gold, half-finger of bright white head, shimmering lace. Aroma: light, sweet and crackery, with notes of champagne, citrus zest, and a hint of herb garden. Taste: biscuity and sweetish, with notes of white grapes, yeasty spices (clove), some citrus, grass, pepper and herbs. Finish: smooth, slightly prickly, champagne-dry, and bittersweet. Notes: Flavors were very similar to those found in their Ozzy, but the palate was more on the oily/syrupy side. Very nice flavors, great balance. For a blonde, it’s a bit of a sipper.

Great sweetness in this one. Very smooth flavors of plum and watery cloves. Some yeastiness but it isn’t very noticeable for a Belgian style ale. Very good.

Thanks to Matt Capone(BA capones) for buying me this one...
Appears a transparent gold with a fluffy white head that slowly fades into a mild cap. Small amounts of CO2 pump to the top. Scattered lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of citrus, flowery, with earthy, spicy notes and perhaps a touch of diacetyl and yeast found in the nose.
Taste is of the same aromas with a more balanced Saison grassiness and funk coming through.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, gently spiced, with a low level of carbonation and citrus coming through.

Draft: New release from Brewers Art, described as a blonde abbey style ale. True to form it is blonde in color, slightly hazy, with a tiny white head, slightly fruity, sugary nose, flavor is sweet, some citrus, some sugars, and a hint of spice. Finished lightly bitter. Not bad.
