dark brown body with a light brown head. lactic coffee roast nose. that is a roasty cup of beer. wow, just char and hints of smoke to get through after the initial sips. it is fitting that it is a coffee porter and not a porter with coffee cause getting through to something other than coffee here is difficult. on the plus side, i drink my coffee black, so i appreciate the flavor, just think it is a bit much here. light caramel cream notes start to emerge later in this. acidic coffee lingers more than anything else though.

Small tan head, short lived, skimpy lace, nice ruby hued color. Nose of coffee grinds and caramel, pleasent enough. Lightly medium bodied, tame carbonation, cool. Decent roast and coffe flavors, lil chocolate, bitter sweet. Dry, tamely roasty finish, coffeeish. Decent! Bottles from statelineliquors.

A fine porter with hints of coffee, especially in the nose, but lightly present throughout. Appetizing head. Lots of roastiness, dark.

Dark black, not much head. Coffee, chocolate, malt and hop aroma. Tastes pretty good, mellow, cofeeish. Palate is smooth, but thin. Not bad.

I agree with Travlr - this is certainly mostly a porter with a little coffee thrown in. Lots of roast and a little nut. Pours black with OK head and lacing. Nice bitter finish. Thick consistency. Tap at pizza paradiso.

Draft. Clear ruby maroon color, beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, brownie dough. Taste is malty chocolate and coffee. More of a beer than pure coffee, which is a refreshing change for a coffee beer!

On tap at Bertha's in the Fell's Point district, Baltimore, MD.
Clear, very dark mahogany with a khaki head and fair lacing.
Aroma of sweet roasted malt, milk chocolate and coffee.
Taste of caramel, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and nuts. Quite sweet for a porter, the flavor reminded me of a mocha milkshake.
Medium body and medium/high carbonation.

Tap at Bertha’s. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate, and coffee malt with prunes, nutty malt, and light earthy hops. Flavor is dark malt dominant with heavy coffee, dark fruits, light hops and medium bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Tap. Pours dark brown with a ruby tint and creamy beige head. Aroma is coffee, toasted malts, light roasted notes, faint floral notes, faint vanilla, dates, plums, and faint caramel. Flavor is lightly roast malts, dark fruit esters, light vanilla sweetness, faint earthiness, and faint ash; dry, roast finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at Alewife Baltimore. Pours a translucent mahogany brown with a ring of white head. Nice roasted coffee aroma, nutty, malty, cracker, bread crust. Flavors of cocoa pods, Folgers coffee, malt, brown sugar, bread crust. Finishes dry and smooth. Solid.
