crizay (1070), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Feb 6, 2008 Thanks to MikeTD and apparently Hellbilly. Clear copper pour, small white head that stays even though the growler is probably over a week old and has been opened. Aroma is faint which probably goes with it’s age but is melon all the way. Flavor is hops and more hops, but melon upfront which is the shit, grapefruit and it’s bitterness, with some pine, resin and orange. Caramel malts to back it up, medium bodied, and still carbonated. Man this would be great from the tap, nice brew. Melon hops! Bockyhorsey (2033), Mesa, Arizona, USA Feb 6, 2008 Tap @ Brewhouse. Pine aroma on the nose and citrus orange also. Orange body with white head. For an Impy IPA the there was a moderate dry bitter in the flavor which was good for me. Citrus flavor of oranges. Cool and crisp on the palate with some bitter dryness lingering. At least with this one didn’t need a full glass of water to combat the dry bitterness. miketd (375), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Feb 4, 2008 Growler with big thanks to hellbilly! Pour is a clear, rusty orangish with a big white head. Good initial lacing. Very hoppy aroma with some malty caramel. Flavor is hoppy up front with just a tad of sweetness. There is some spice and leathery quality in the flavor as well. Medium bodied. Very dry finish. Solid IIPA. hellbilly (909), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Feb 1, 2008 yellowy amber with a thin white head. very aromatic nose. it’s full of alcohol, orange, brown sugar, pine and grassy hops. flavor is not sweet! too many dipas are ruined by being cloying. this is a nice change... orange (fruit), light rosemary and grassy hops dominate over the graininess. the finish is quite dry and leaves with alcohol and hops leaking out of my nose. bitterness lingers for a while. medium body and carbonation with a peppery mouth feel from the hops and alcohol. nice dry dipa...
