Cask at Pigs Ear. Clear amber beer. Little white head. Semi dry palate, very mild carbonation. Sweetish fruits in a smooth malt base. Traces of apples, oranges and other things. A little toffee in the background. Mild alcoholic heat and dryness. Dry finish. Not bad.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2012 Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival (Day 2) on 7 December 2011. K9P/Canine Pee - geddit? Looks like Iain Turnbull has gone walkabout so I’m not sure that listing this under Borough Arms beer is entirely appropriate. Orangey colour. Nutty and quite dry. Earthy hops. Comes over more like a traditional brown bitter than anything else. No sign of 6.8% alcohol. A bit light & underpowered for the strength and not one of the more interesting Brewer’s Swansong beers.

Cask@Pigs Ear Beer Fest 2011. Pale copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma and flavour are both caramel, fruits, some nectar, mild resiny and wooden notes along with some mild syrupy notes as well. Flavour ends in a quite pleasant malty and slightly bitter hoppyness.

Cask, gravity at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, Hackney, London, 06.12.11 Pours dark amber with a bubbly white head. This is a tad sweet and a little rough around the edges, feels like its a half completed beer and come across like a homebrew. It is not undrinkable, and the hops are there but overall a tad messy A5 A3 A5 P3 Ov10 2.6
