2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.
Clear dark dark black color with virtually no head. Aroma is heavy malty, tar, sod, wood, smoke, soy sauce, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, smoke, soy sauce, sod. To much to me and also quit unbalanced IMO. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcholic.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours black with a light, off-white cream head. Mild wet, dark wood in the nose, some tangy dark fruits. Medium to big sweet flavor with more tangy dark malts, burnt wood, dark fruits, vague cocoa. Full bodied with soft carbonation and a very oily texture. Lightly warming finish with dry, burnt wood now, some mold and musty wood, faint baking cocoa. Eh...can’t say this was the most enjoyable beer.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12.
Light murky black with a very thin tan head that soon clears to a splash at the edge of the vessel.
Nose is sweet sugars, dark malts, dark fruit, overbearing sweetness and booze, light wood tones.
Taste comprises sweet sugars, dark fruit, wood, touch of smoke, more sugars.
Full bodied, flat, sweet finish.
No balance, flat as a pancake, too sweet ! A strong beer badly executed.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
4th December 2012
Pigs Ear. Opaque black - brown beer, tidy tan head. Slightly viscous palate, low carbonation. Sweet malts, a little sherry and Port Wine bramble fruits. Dark chocolate. Trace of salt. A mild metallic note then tangy dark fruits. Finishes semi dry. Lots going on. Hope the story behind these beers does not end here.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Gravity @ Pigs Ear 2012. The pour’s deep brown with no head. The nose is prunes, some chocolate, charred cherry pit and wood. The taste is of robitussen cough syrup, medicinal sweet fruits. Weird, tangy berry. A big of chocolate malt. Slick, oily. Weird, incongruous flavors. Lacks focus. Overall, not particularly enjoyable.
