A tropical-fruit aroma greets you with a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and an almost honey-like character before the biscuity, chewy malt backbone coats your palate with a smooth richness. The finish is elegant and dry, leaving you yearning for more... Food Pairing: Gammon, eisbein, pork crackling, german-style pork sausages, pulled pork. 500mlx20 6,5% ABV. 8 week brewing time. Ingredients: Barley, yeast, hops and water. Craft brewed in Bavaria.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Opaque gold. Swirl of creamy white. Very sweet, fruity, grain. Some vanilla. Taste is soggy sweet. Some vegetal bitterness. Sweet, chewy palate. Finishes mostly sweet, with a touch of bitterness. Not my cup of tea this.

Clear golden coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of metal, light malt, earth, mushrooms and a bit of grassy light hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Metallic flavour up front with a light earthy malt, some light sugars and a touch of fruit noticeable. Aftertaste shows just some malty and earth flavours with only a little grain and hop flavours at the tail end. Overall, a relatively well-balanced beer with more of a metallic and earthy note than most Hellers, but not bad to try - I was initially upset that this said brewed in Bavaria (given that I just left Munich to come here), but I hope it has at least something to do with Cape Town. I sampled this 500 mL bottle, best before 18-March-2016, purchased earlier today at Simon’s Town Bottle Shop in Simon’s Town (Cape Town), Western Cape, South Africa on 13-August-2015 for ZAR32,90 sampled in my hotel room here in Central Cape Town later in the evening.

Euro2-Flasche: Hazy, golden, small white foamy layer; yeasty and citrussy-fruity nose with a wheaty (?!) touch; mainly sweetish flavour with a slight acidity (not caused by an infection!), medium bodied and sticky; increasing bitterness -but still on a quite low level- in the short sweetish-grainy and lemony finish. Totally dosappointing…

Hazy straw color with a bug foamy white head. Light aroma with notes of straw, yeast, and apple. Taste oddly tart, with notes of apple and orange rind. Very refreshing. The tartness lingers on your tongue and beckons you to take another sip. Very nice.

500 ml bottle from Glug Newcastle. Fruity aroma. Poured into a tulip. Hazy yellow with a proud white head. Apple, celery and cereal flavours. Sweet malt with a dry finish. In this unpasteurised, unfiltered form, I was reminded strongly of Zwickel/Keller/Landbier variants I’ve enjoyed in Germany and Austria. Nice beer

500ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden color. Small size, white head, stays. Malty, spicy hops of some sort in aroma. Malty, citrus, dusty taste. Poor and messy. Not my cup of beast.
