DruncanVeasey (7097) - NUNEATON, Top 13, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2014
Bottle from Beer Gozo, Coventry. Pale diaphanous yellow becoming fully opaque with an initially huge white foam. Aroma of Madeira cake, palinka, shrub and cherry blossom. Pretty decent strong lager with a sappy hop quality and a honeyed lemon and almond sweetness alluding at the ABV. Beeswax, lemon throat-sweet and eucalyptus hints. Full body with the bits in. Not bad. Although more tiddler than beast.

On tap at the Rake. It pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a small soapy white head. Aroma is fruit, over-ripe mangos and peaches and some malt. Taste is similar, fruity and sweet-ish with a final boozy kick. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall, nice beer for a style I don’t dig much.

Bananas on the nose, hazy gold appearance with thin head. Not sure I’ve ever tasted such a strong bubble gum flavor outside of a blue milkshake...
