COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A mass-market brewery simply could not make a beer like this. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bursting with flavor, it has phenomenal body and freshness. Hazy to the eye, and full on the palate. 6 week brewing time. Barley, yeast, hops and water.

Bottle at several places. brewers union unfiltered lager Perfect level of haze on a luminescent gold body Resinous aromas and flavors with nice body Finish is dry but is sorely underhopped and the malt chatacter is meek Not super successful as a kellerbier but likable.

Leighton (11030) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2012
Bottle shared with Lyoli on the Eurostar, bound for Brussels; this will probably be the last lager of the weekend. Pours cloudy gold with a forthy, pure white foam head. Doughy malts nose with sugary white bread notes. Medium sweet flavor with strong dough, faint spices, faint hay. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes mostly mellow, though there is a slight bready crispness with further notes of hay and some straw, very light notes of corn and cereal, some white sugar. It’s a very basic lager, but it’s also quite refreshing in its simplicity.

Hazy beer with a superb scent. Crisp taste as it hits the tongue, covers the mouth in a sense of satisfaction. Might become my new favourite lager.

Bottle from Whole Foods Kensington. Pours hazy light yellow with a big white head. The nose is light banana and wheat, sweet grain and syrup. The taste is more sugary breakfast cereal, more hints of banana-like wheat. Light yeast. Lightly watery finish. Light body, active carbonation. Overall, not particularly impressive.

For an unfiltered lager it is only the slightest bit hazy. A straw/honey colored pour. Big white head, creamy. Fades quick. Plenty of lacing. A lemony aroma with some pissy hops mixed in. Slight yeast aroma. A bit of fruit in the mouth. Lemon, bread, banana (slight) and a very yeast-like flavor. Almost like uncooked bread. Crisp, thin and dry. A bit of bitterness in the back. Not bad.

Poured with a nice sized, foamy, frothy, off white head. Color was a hazy amber. Aroma was bread, yeast, cereal, malt. Flavor is like nose with a nice bitter/sweet balance. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and short to medium in length. Not bad, although I’ve had a lot more distinctive "zwickels".
