Cask (gravity dispense) at Great British Beer Festival, day 4 on 5 August 2011. I have to say, I didn’t find the prospect of sampling a 4.4% best bitter, brought all the way from Oregon to a festival that was chock full of similar beers of a more local provenance, a particularly enthralling prospect. I’m not sure it survived the trip to well. There was some rather grainy, biscuity malt here and overall impression was a bit dull. Said to be part of a series of "Wotcha" beers with different aroma/finishing hops, in this case Cascade. But I didn’t think the Cascade made much of an impression. Nothing particularly wrong here, just not very attention-grabbing.

GBBF. Cask. Light haze on this amber beer. Light dry palate. Horrible raw pale malt - tastes like bird seed. Foul!

GraviCask (GBBF2011, Friday) Black tea, honey, hints of vegetables with its husky graininess. Delivers the grainy veg in spades. Milky malts too. Pretty messed up, but deep down it seems like a formula I should like.
