A golden amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a strong woody malt, with weird solvent notes, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a woody scotch malt with light maple and vanilla notes, some light wood barrel, interesting. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 21 2012.

On tap at the Brewpub. This is a very well-made beer. Rich gold in color- it is almost amber. Has a white head that hangs in there forever. Strong strawberry aroma. Outstanding fruity malty aroma. A strong bolus of sweetness rolls over you r tongue in a tidal wave. No bitter finish at all. The only information I could get out of the Brewer was that it was 20-22°P OG. It is indeed high in alcohol, but he would not say how high. I’m guessing the style of this to be a strong ale, as the brewer refused to describe any of his beers by style. In fact, the owner of this place is a real asshole who seems to hate homebrewers or beer lovers. He’s a real argumentative weirdo, but he makes pretty good beer. If you go to this place, just drink. Don’t try to chat with the sonavabitch.
