3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I don’t understand Krisallweizen, or as I think of it, Hefeweizen light. There is a light wheat aroma, yeast, some banana, and clove. The flavors are all there but too light. Thanks for sharing, Skyview.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler, courtesy of Skyview. Nearly clear copper color with no head. Very light banana aroma. The flavor is spot on to a regular hefe: lots of cloves and bananas, rounded out with full wheat. Excellent.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the brewpub next to downtown Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that laves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of banana esters, cloves a touch of creamed corn, golden grain malt, wheat and some cotton candy. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with flavors of banana esters, creamed corn, wheat and a touch of cloves. Finish is semi-sweet with a nice banana and malt aftertaste. Past Kristalweizens I’ve tried are very light and had more of a wheat ale character. This is the first one I’ve tried that actually has some hefe character.
