3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. This pours a deep amber color, with a thick khaki head on top that sheds some good lacing. The aroma displays strong whiffs of grapefruit and resinous hops. Some caramel and Belgian yeast there too. Lighter in the body than expected, going down very easily, but a shade thin. Tropical fruit flavors, with earth, mineral, and a little caramel. Sweet but bitter and dry in the finish. Much like their Belgian IPA, the Belgian yeast here adds a little something different but without going overboard. It makes an otherwise boring style (assuming Red Ale, not IPA) interesting. Not great but certainly very good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can at Jerry’s. Clear red-amber with fine, foamy, beige head, good legs / Simple, sweet nose of dark caramel, citrus, bread / Light to medium body, clean, sweet, lightly syrupy, some sourness, solid hop balance but not biting / Flavors of dark caramel, celery salt, grapefruit, mango, turning rind / Not bad, but the celery salt flavor is odd, and this sweet and syrupy style of hoppy beer doesn’t appeal to me.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear dark amber with a solid one-finger head that stays for the duration, streaks, dots, and swirls of lace. A good looking drink. Grapefruit dominates the nose. Taste is malt and grass punctuated by mild but assertive grapefruit hops. All in all, well balanced, excellent with food, easy to drink. Recommended.

Aroma is spices, malts and a hint of unique heat. The flavor is spices, mild heat, citrus, light grapefruit, a hint of tropical fruit and a tart finish.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Can to pint glass. Basically what the can says. Hoppy belgian red. Kinda low on the hops. Not as citriusy as i hoped. Lots of earthy red and belgian yeast. Not all that impressed with how everything works together. Very thin body. Wattery.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 oz. can poured to a Czech-pils glass at Lunar Brewing Co., displaying a clear & bright, ruby highlighted, copper color, with off white/light tan head froth, and nice cling to the etched-like, wavy lacing. The nose was immediately sweet, berry preserves, with maybe a bit of melon. No Belgian yeast aromatics readily detectable. The flavor retained some fruit sweetness, was medium bodied, with decent carbonation, and presented a medium, somewhat lingering hop bitterness. Clean and drinkable, but not that assertive.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice name. Had this on cask at fountainheads. Pours a murky amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is mellow hopped, light citrus and malt. Mouthfeel is medium, no carbonation with notes of spice, citric hop, bitter grapefruit, floral character and a decent malt presence. More of an amber than an IPA.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
First of all this beer is not an IPA, it is a red ale. If you go into it expecting an IPA you may be disappointed.
Pours a wonderful clear mahogany color with a tan two-finger head. Head lasts for quite some time and leaves behind plenty of lacing,
Scent is incredible. The hop aroma gives it a tropical character I have not experienced before. Definitely picking up the mango. A bit floral as well. Though I am not getting much aroma from malt or yeast I am also not picking up anything negative either. A 10 for aroma.
Tasting a bit of caramely sweetness from the malt as well as all that wonderful hop character. Citrus and a bit of the tropical fruit as well. Medium-heavy bitterness with perhaps a light and pleasant sour character. Also getting some savory flavors as well.
Medium body, oily feel, lively carbonation. Not much astringency. Bitter finish.
Overall this beer is outstanding. The only negative is the finish. Though there is nothing wrong with it there just isn’t much going on in the end other than some numbing bitterness. Just wish it had some flavor to go with it. However that is still preferable to a bad aftertaste. No off scents or flavors in this beer at all. You won’t regret trying this beer if you keep an open mind and not worry about what style it is or isn’t. Cheers!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is musty, maybe. Sort of like dirt and wet grass. Flavor is the same, citrus hops with a funky earthiness. Is earthiness a quality of Belgian ales? This beer was different, I’ll give it that. But not my cup of tea. I will say that Brewery Vivant has got the can idea right. I find craft beer in cans unappealing for some reason, but putting beer in 16oz cans changes the equation and makes cans BETTER than bottles. So, kudos to you, Brewery Vivant. If you could churn out a world class beer, you’d really have something, IMO.
