Had at Brewery Vivant's tap room in Grand Rapids with Raith. This is a very nice beer. Amber orange pour. Lots of hops on the nose. Very nice.

This canned Belgian is orange-red in color with an off white head. It has the Nose of a sweet, red Belgian, and is very pleasant. A Belgian character is strong in the flavor, with graininess and high end caramel flavors prominent. The finish is bittersweet. Overall, itís not too Belgian to handle, but still distinctively so.

Deep amber pour, high carbonation. Taste is sweet malt, Belgian yeast, citrus hop. Well balanced with a bitter finish.

Solid cloudy medium dark brown pour with 3 inches or so of whitish orange head. Sweet hay and funky belgian yeast fill the nose, not too strong. Average carbonation, thick but slick mouthfeel, clean finish. Taste like a sour brown, funky and on the verge of bitter rye but not overboard, with somep iney hops too. Very nice selection, one of my favorites from Vivant.

Pours a very dark red, almost brown with cream head. Aroma is very hoppy and alsojust grassy with hints of citrus and strong mango. Taste is much the same. The grass flavor and hops come through strong and make up the majority of the aftertaste.

16 oz can grabbed at the brewery (Grand Rapids, MI). Grabbed a 4 pack of rates on the way out. Pours a nice deep copper jue, orange glowing bottom and edges are lighter, pretty hazy body with that striking winter sunset bottom. A big cakey tannish head atop stays larger, laces well. Pretty. Aromas show a firm hop presence, floral and a bit resiny. Citrus plays secondary as we start. Some touches of fruit, lemon rind, and gentle pineapple. Earthy florals and grass, some bready malt, straw, gentle yeastiness. Gentle carmelization. Initial is decent to medium bitter hop profile, more juicy and citrusy. Lemony and citrusy with some grapefruit. Decent citrus juice character through the front and middle. Middle starts to show some decent bready and gentle carmelized toasty feels into the backend. Juicy citrusy feel, a touch of juicy fruit, grapefruit juice. Backend and finish show a touch of body, carmelization and biscuit. Some toastiness, some dry florals and decent bitterness. Pretty solid. This isnít trying to be a hop screamer, a gentle Belgian yeast profile mutes it a bit, keeps away a big toasty malt character, dries it out and provides a touch of spice. Well made, pretty solid offering here. Looks great, tastes good, works well enough. I wouldnít expect me to like something like this, but itís nice.

May 23 at Beercade Emporium. Pours red in the provided tulip glass. A fresh, hoppy smell; what seems like a Citra nose. Same hops dancing around on my tongue. Malts are recognizable those of an amber or "Red Ale," but just there to support APA level hops.

16 oz can. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Heavy citrus, floral, and pine hops in the aroma, ending on a little earthy yeast note. Flavor settles into hoppy floral and citrus, toasty malt, and a spicy yeast overtone to the whole thing. At times I also get a taste identical to brown sugar. Itís a bit of a mishmash, but in the end I really like this.

16 oz. can shared by Beerpig317. Like the name. Made me blush. Pours a clear but deep red-amber with plenty of bubbles on the inside of the glass and a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, citrusy and piney hops, getting some grapefruit and mild spice. Flavor is mostly the same; just really nice and citrusy with a solid caramel malt backbone. Some pineapple and other tropical fruit, too. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a mouthfeel that is both malty and resinous. Nice.
