On tap at Brewery Vivant, pours a dark brownish red with a thin head, the aroma has a nice sweetness with caramel and malt, the flavor has some chocolate and raisin in it with a little bit of dark fruit to match with the caramel and malt, good stuff.

On tap at the brewpub. A very dark brown beer that is opaque. A smallish ring. The nose is dark fruit and yeast with earth. The flavor begins with that earth and some dark chocolate. It offers grain, rye, perhaps, and yeast with dark fruit that includes raisins. The finish shows some bittering hop effects. Complicated. Tasty, too. An interesting beer.

Draft. Poured into a tall glass a dark brown color with a slight tan head. Dark fruit and roast in the nose. Medium mouthfeel. Slight smoke in the taste along with dark fruit, vanilla, and roasted coffee flavors. Not bad and drinks rather nice. Could use a little more of something though to push it over the mediocre for me.

Pint at the brewery. Great brown color with foamy tan head slightly see through. Nose of caramel malts brown sugar yeast. Medium bodied, very light as it hits your palate, decently carbonated, the finish is very long and enjoyable, there are some small notes of dark fruit and molasses, nice Belgian yeast brings complexity. Overall very drinkable and enjoyable.

Draft sample at BV. Poured a clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt , nuts and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a medium toheavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectation where exceeded.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep translucent garnet-red brown body, puffy dissipating beige head. Fruity nose with caramel, brown sugar, and berries. The body is drier than anticipated by the aroma, with the balance tipped in favor of chalky cocoa and roast that are complemented by sweet berries and soapy hops.

Poured from the taps at the pub. Pours a nice brown color and has a nutty aroma. Bitter sweet taste and an oily palate.
