4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma reminds me of a late harvest reisling, acidic apple, pear, some cherry and a hint of metal; banana is the only aroma I get that I would not expect of a late harvest reisling. Appearance is a hazy reddish orange, a tuft of white foam and thick curtains of lace. Taste is acidic, slightly sour, apple and pear stand out prominently with a light oregano like hop bitterness on the end. Palate is beautiful, I almost wanted to give it 5/5; fizzy and creamy, but not syrupy, very nice. Overall, a great beer, a little pricy, but I will still be buying this again. Cheers!

Can. Cloudy amber. Tons of head on pour. Incredible lacing and a thin layer of head lasting throughout drink. Nose is pure yeast/funk. Thinnish mouthfeel. Bretta yeast defines this beer--tastes very much like a farmhouse. Very mild hop presence felt on tongue. Great beer--too bad itís so expensive!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2013 Can: translucent copper body; hazy, but not as hazy as Iíd expect a Brett ale to be. Gray-tinted foam settled rapidly on top, loudly fizzing and cracking to nothing but a collar. Aroma is funky-ass Brett, overripe & funky pineapple with moderate tartness, dirty barn floors, & musty bales of hay. Very horsey with an underlying fruit collage - strawberry, cherry, mild apple & finishing lemon zest. Taste is fruit up front with heavy apple & cherry, followed by a pinapple funk from the Brett. Lightly tart but not puckering. Funky abyss of musty old barns after a nice rain. Earthy must. Finish of lightly tart & bitter cherry skins, mild citrus, funk, and a touch of acetone. Very complex, a pretty good Brett ale. More on the "wild" side than the "sour" side.

Pouring at NotF in Boston. Pours a lightly hazed amber with a thin beige to white head. Soft floral musk, herbal notes. Sweet, medium-bodied. Gets very sweet, jammy malt, chewy. Light acid, faint acetone. Nutty with some yeast on the finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
16 oz. can served in a Brewery Vivant snifter.
A: Pours a grapefruit like color with a white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin collar that leaves some sticky lace down the glass.
S: A good amount of Brett is present in the nose. A little funky with some slightly cheesy undertones. Orange sweetness and fruitiness as well. Pale malt sweetness.
T: Oaky and dried grass with a good deal of Bretty funk. Grape-like with a very drying texture. The booze is sweet and not that well hidden. A bit of newspaper as well. A rotten plum flavor sort of creeps up on the back end. Not terrible, but not that appealing.
M: Medium to light bodied with a very drying texture. Medium high carbonation.
O: Very imbalanced and the Brett overtakes everything. Iíve been disappointed from Vivant lately. Hopefully they pick it back up and make some more balanced beers.
Serving type: can
