3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2013 Can from JPDurden. Thanks Jon! Pours a crystal clear amber color with a trim off-white head that falls until it just rings the glass edge. There is a little lacing, though. Aroma has some dried fruits, maybe cherry, some wood and lots of Brett. Taste is sweet with some earthiness. Perhaps a tad too sweet since I’d prefer a beer like this to be drier. A little sticky. Decent beer.

Can from flandersned-thanks, Steve! Amber brown, loads of carbonation as you’d expect. Overripe pineapple predominates the nose and taste. Solid but simple.

Copper red, ruby when held to the light. Quickly receding white head. crystal clear. Nose is of Brett, caramel, horse blanket, mineral. Whiffs of bread. Oxidation. Alcohol as it warms. Taste is rounded and smooth. Sweet caramel up front, dry finish. More alcohol as it warms. Oxidation. Sour cherries?

(draft @ HopCat - Grand Rapids, MI - 2012 vintage) Orange/copper pour with a thin white head. Dry aroma with some mild spice and a very light funk. Flavor wasn’t sour at all. Dry and a bit tart but not much in the way of sour. More barnyard/bier de garde flavors.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Ashley's in Ann Arbor. The pour is a strange pink gold with a thin layer of white head that just won't leave. There is a little bit of lace, but nothing excessively sticky. The aroma is a little sweeter and more of a fruit dominance than a sour, which is a little surprising. The deeper you go, just more fruit. The flavor is strange. It's almost bitter as opposed to sour. No real funk, and the fruit is drowned out by the bitterness. The mouth feel is thin and well carbonated, but the aftertaste is just bitter fruit. Not good bitter fruit, but something you want to leave.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Another great gift. Pours orange-amber with a fair khaki head that leaves some spots of lace. Nose involves brown sugar, tart yeast, some funky earthy stuff, apple skin, hay and grass. Pretty sweet, fairly tart, slight bitter. Medium to full bodied, oily, snappy, tart, with a lengthy yeasty drying farmy finish. Really enjoying this. Sure it would gain some complexity with a little more age, but as is, it has plenty of good stuff going on and it’s just flat out refreshing and drinkable despite the ABV. Good stuff.

Clear and golden color. Aroma of apples and a bit of funk. Taste is a very mild sour with a lot of apple and some weirdness on the backside

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from a trade. Aroma and flavor of a Brett-conditioned pale ale. Definitely get the soured hops. Not a huge fan, but I can see it's selling points. Ok beer.

From the can, brett, citrus and funk all around. One of the tastiest brett beers I have ever had. Love it.
