3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Opaque straw gold. Mild, funky nose and taste. Easy drinking. Good, but seems like it could be funkier.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can: golden apple juice color with a dense shade of yellow, mild chill haze throughout. Big, soapy, bone-white cap shows decent retention but poor lacing. Aroma is very farm-y. Musk, cheesy funk, & damp wood are joined by light apple skins, thick yeast, and bready malts. Kind of timid for the style, but seemingly balanced, although I’d like a little more fruitiness or spice. Taste is full of funky apples, lemon zest, white grape skins with light cheesecloth, faint, spicy esters, and a hint of barnyard. Doesn’t quite stack up to some of the other saisons out there, as it’s rather quiet & light, but there’s still nothing wrong with it. Decent, refreshing beer.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Lemon, tart earthy aroma. Pours a cloudy straw color with a white head that dissipates quickly. Good mouthfeel, earthy, tangy, sweet. Seems like a bit strong for a farm hand to drink a lot of to stay hydrated and energized, but is delicious none the less.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pouring at BBF in Boston. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Soft musk, wheat, light funk. Musk, medium-bodied, lemon, funk. Wheat, soft and yeasty. Musk and lemon, bright and vibrant. Rather tasty.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy pure gold with a tall off-white head that quickly settles and leaves some sticky, intricate lace behind. Nose involves slight mustiness and earth, light pine and citric hops, and very light pale malt sweetness. Taste is lightly sweet and quite bitter. Light bodied, active, tingly, toward bright, with a drying bitter finish. Good quencher, though not especially dynamic.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
This brewery rocks! I had farmhouse at the brewery and it was good. Bought some at the brewery to take home and glad I did. Pours light golden brown, smooth light taste. Nice farm hand

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Vivant Flight Draught. 29viii13. Light and easydrinking saison/bière de garde crossover with dominant straw malt and easy-going yeast characteristics, reminiscent more of 3Monts/Gavroche Light than Saison Dupont. Nice enough apéritif, but not a stand-out beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a can into my itty bitty sampler mug at World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Appearance: Yellow. Maybe a slight haze, I don’t really recall. Head bubbles away pretty quickly. Decent.
Smell: The funk you’d expect from a Saison, maybe with some banana notes as well... bready.
Taste: Follows the nose. I’m not normally big on "funky" beers for the most part, but Vivant never seems to do me wrong. The Belgian "twang" is there significantly at the start, but the finish is extremely refreshing, which bumps up the rating a tad.
A respectable beer. Good, not great. A super refreshing beer with a nice finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Drank from can at Tip Top Bar & Grill watching hellhound rockabilly band burn up stage. Got this off advice of Canadian ex-pat at bar. Not overly complex. An easy drinking beer.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
16oz can. Thick, hazy, unfiltered orange-yellow body. Thin, patchy head. Not your typical BS US Saison, this one is pretty unique and rustic. Has some funky delicate earthy wheat and mildly sour undertones..reminiscent of a Berliner Weisse in some respects, but has a pleasant rounded backbone, maybe a hint of oats or nutmeg. Quite a unique and enjoyable variation on the style, a great addition to any Saison tasting.
