COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Farm Hand: French Style Farmhouse Ale 5.5% abv 16 oz Becher glass There was a time in old world France when nearly every family farm had a brewery. A necessary part of farm life was to provide a ration of beer to sustain and nourish the laborers and beer was safer to drink than the water of the time. Farmhand is our interpretation of what these rustic beers must have been like. It is slightly cloudy from being made with raw un-malted grains a nd a simple single infusion mash procedure.

I REALLY enjoyed this beer. I am a bit shocked the ratings are so low. Out of the 5 beers I tried with this brewery, this was by far my favorite. It is a lighter beer but the flavors and aromas were great. I am a big fan.

Can. Rather clear very pale yellow pour, white with thin white head. Aroma is intriguing, very citrusy, light bready notes, lemon juice and wheaty notes. Taste is quite citric, strong lemony flavor, light fresh grain, rather long lingering bitter (even astringent) finish. Palate is way over carbed, really prickly with a light body. Lots of good stuff going on here, but a few ends left untied in the finish leaves a feeling of not impressed.

Hazy pale yellow with a white head. Nose is musty, sweaty lemon rind, wheat. Flavor some bland citrus and wheat with some bitter hops. Flavor profile is a bit clunky. Feel is thin, a shame for a light wheat beer. Nose is decent, pretty boring otherwise.

My least favorite micro-brew in recent memory. Had an odd taste and left a bitter aftertaste.

Draft. Small white head atop clear straw body. Aroma is moderately sweet, lemon, some white pepper. Taste is moderately sweet, lemon, some bread, light spicy, pepper. Light-medium body, low carbonation.

The farm hand pours a soft light yellow with a bubbly off white champagne like head. The aroma is bread and floral hops. The flavor follows suite. Overall this is a decent brew and I would not oppose another.

Served between cellar and refrigerated temperatures in a wide-mouth wine glass. Beer poured out a hazy straw yellow with a three inch white head that dissipated quickly. A fine head remains throughout sipping. Smells immediately of sweet yeast and bread followed by an oaky, floral, and dry white grape (almost a Chardonnay). Leaves little astringence with a nice, crisp mouthfeel. I immediately taste light, sweet cereals, yeast, and mild banana notes, followed by that big white wine flavor. Pretty straightforward here. Finishes with a lingering bread/yeast combo. Simple and to the point. A nice refresher with a wine-like elegance. Let it warm up in the glass a little to pull out the yeast flavors.

Deep yellow, slight peppery but mostly yeasty smelling. Highly carbonated, salty not so drinkable saison. Thanks FlandersNed.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a light golden color. Aroma was slightly fruity and a little grassy. The flavor was more of the same and slightly sweet. It was a little fizzy. It wasn’t bad, but I don’t know that I’d seek it out again.

Draft. Hazy pale yellow color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of funky and peppery grapefruit. Taste is dusty straw and barnyard. A proper saison.
