3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap in Detroit, MI
An excellent catch at Slow’s BBQ in Detroit, this was an interesting fruit beer. I was hoping for better given the Brewery Vivant brand. Unfortunately it did not quite work out. Much like the Michigan basketball team it seemed to fall just a bit short of greatness.
Aroma / Appearance - Coppery semiopaque liquid fills the glass with a trace of wispy white head for company. Light blueberries, grain, and other flavors rise up like a bowl of Fruit Loops. It feels quite sweet and sugary without much tartness.
Flavor / Palate - If you made a bowl of Fruit Loops with an average what beer just past its prime this is what it would taste like. The transition is Corn Pops. It then finishes with a wheaty little kick. This tastes like Willy Wonka experimenting with a three course breakfast. It has flashes of brilliance but ultimately does not stand out as more than a novelty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Ashley’s. Pours a clear gold with a purple hue and a white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a rich blueberry note with underlying sweet grains and cookies. Flavor is rich with sweet blue berry and sweet grains throughout.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A beautiful, headless, almost violet rose-looking beverage. The aroma would support the notion - all fruit. Not so much blueberry in flavor as faint elderberry - very pleasing and too easy to drink. Some lovely tartness. A dry fresh palate that only just hints at yeast. An overwhelmingly successful novelty beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
tap. Deep reddish/purple gold. Light body with pleasant fruit. Great summer beer. Slightly tart. Seems like half beer, half cider.
